Chrominius is mostly known from its handy combination of Howl and Surge of Power, which had been a staple burst damage provider in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor. Often a part of †Howlbomb that was neutered in Legion, this skill set in guides has since been replaced over time with those of Iron Starlette and Microbot XD.

As a Dragonkin with Magic damage, it's one of the pets with a recognizable effectiveness against Flying creatures and can be still employed as such, though not to the same extent as Nexus Whelpling.
