Blackfuse Bombling can be substituted by Timeless Mechanical Dragonling for the same results.I think it might even be a little bit more reliable since Shelby always die after Pet Bombling second turn. (edited)

Well, I tried it.

Yes, it works great, but, because Shelby dies to the Minefield, remember to use Howl before Surge, as specified in the main strat above. With BfB, Shelby doesn't usually die until Chrominius Bites, so Chrominius gets his racial before using Surge.

When Shelby dies to the Minefield, as when you use the Timeless, Chrominius doesn't get the racial, so you need Howl to make Surge finish Glitterwing.

This IS covered in the strat, but it's easy to forget. (edited)
