Instead of Pass use Evanescence a turn early and it blocks the attack and the curse of doom, at least in my experience.

For an alternative strategy I was able to use the following set up:

Chrominius (2-1-1) --> You can also use the also relatively rare Lil' Terecgosa here for Arcane Explosion spam.
Emmigosa (2-1-1)
Emerald Proto-Whelp (2-2-1)

I followed Xu-Fu's strategy above by just Arcane Explosion-ing until Chrominius dies. When Emmigosa came in her Breath attack was decreased against Helpful Spirit, but the real banger nuking the Helpful Spirit with Surge of Power right before the Curse of Doom goes off against Emmigosa. Then Emerald Proto-Drake comes in and you just Emerald Presence to mitigate Helpful Spirit's final attack and then you Proto-Strike to migitage even more damage from Delicate Moth and your Emerald Bite is increased against flying so Delicate Moth dies in essentially two turns.

My NFD is a P/B. It survived with 1015/1384 hp. I did follow Alfonze's advice and used Evanescence instead of passing when the strategy tells you to pass. I've no idea if that's what did it, but if so it worked perfectly.

Most people only keep one of each pet. So the main strategy only containing one of a pet is the best thing to do. That's why alternative strategies/comments are here.

Solid strategy, worked for me, but barely - came down to the very last attack and could have gone the other way with a little RNG twist. I think the breed of your Nether Faerie Dragon may matter. I have an S/B, and the enemy moth was faster than me, so I didn't get evanescence off and died. I'd need a nether faerie dragon faster than the moth for this strategy to work as written, which I guess means S/S breed.

Yeah, my P/P dragon wasn't fast enough to get Evanescence off before it die. Thankfully I had put my Celestial Dragon (112) as my 3rd pet, and it was able to finish the fight for me.

Yup, my dragon is S/B too, and I ended fight with 13 hp on him. Got lucky. But 3rd pet can finish either way.
