I have an S/S Bronze Whelpling and the concerns are valid, but with a third pet it's okay.
I'd just remove that Bite on the sprout, but I'm aware that the heal neutralises the SoP…
Maybe put a third dragon in-between and Chrominius at the end? ^^

Looking at the strat, it appeared doable with just the 2 pets so tried to use a level pet for 3rd, but was unsuccessful after multiple attempts. My Bronze Whelpling was an S/S breed so that may be the issue as earlier poster (Cyhyraeth) also did not use the P/P, and was also unable to complete with only the 2 listed pets. Chrominius only had 1 turn before he died to Nightmare Sprout. My 3rd was the highest level dragon I had available, a level 20 Infinite Whelpling, P/S, and could not take on Nightmare Sprout. Tried Infinite Whelpling during the 1st phase with Trixy during the Tail Sweep, as well as before, during and after Chrominius, but none of these worked. I am wondering if the P/P may be able to kill Trixy one round earlier, and if so, if that makes the difference. Ended up using a level 25 Nexus Whelpling with Arcane Storm and Mana Surge to finish off Nightmare Sprout

My Bronze Whelpling died a round or two early (breed H/S), so my Chrominius was able to take care of Globs but then died to Nightmare Sprout on the first Bite. Used a second Chrominius to immediately cast Howl -> Surge of Power, which took care of Nightmare Sprout. Overall very nice strategy!
