Chrominius is mostly known from its handy combination of Howl and Surge of Power, which had been a staple burst damage provider in Mists of Pandaria. Often a part of †Howlbomb that was reduced to oblivion in Legion, this skillset in guides has been since gradually replaced with those of Iron Starlette and Microbot XD.

As a Dragonkin with Magic damage, it's one of the pets with a recognisable effectivity against Flying creatures, and can be still employed as such, though not to the same extent as Nexus Whelpling.
