You can run a 2nd exploded instead of 2 leveling pets if you want to make sure it is fully crit proof (You can survive 1 crit).
Just put them in slot 2 and TD script will still work (~47 secs).

I used this strategy purely to get the achievement 'Draenor Pet Brawler' which gives you a Garrison Monument.
In a lot of fights, The Beakinator is dead on the second Arcane Blast. He never survives the third one if used.
There is the '2-button' strategy using the Nexus Whelpling, but you have to go and heal with the pet trainer every now and again. This strategy means you never have to do that.

Any pet with Arcane Storm & Surge of Power should work in slot #2. The Erudite Manafiend was the lowest power pet I have with this combo at 272 power, and it just barely eeks it out in 4 rounds. My Ashen Chomper is the H/P breed, let me know if this works with the P/S breed. If the P/S isn't working in combo with the Erudite, try switching to a higher power pet in the list below.
Pets with these combos include: Empowered Manafiend, Wild Etherwyrm, Azure Whelpling, Eldritch Manafiend, Emmigosa, Lil' Tarecgosa, Energized Manafiend, and Empyreal Manafiend
