Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Great recommendation by Luigi - thanks for suggesting this strategy!

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Note that your pet needs to be Rare Quality. If it is less than Rare it will just die on round 3. (edited)

for pet battles pets usually have to be Rares, unless they're leveling pets.

TD Script. Testet with Nether Faerie Dragon breed S/S
You only need to cast Moonfire at start. At turn 5 moonfire do same damage as Arcane Blast.

ability(Moonfire) [round=1]
ability(Life Exchange)
ability(Arcane Blast)

Hi there,

What is a TD script please?

Aranesh

An awesome new way of making pet battling even easier ^^ I posted a small intro and guide here on the blog: https://wow-petguide.com/index.php?m=1&jumpto=101

doesn't need the if, there's only one opponent

You don't need the 'enemy' in front of 'round', there are no pet changes.

ability(#2) [ round=3 ]
ability(#1)

use(#2) [round~3]
use(#1)

This is 6 rounds as of the date of this comment using P/B. 5 rounds using P/P. This strategy has now been added.

I've never tried it without Moonfire, to be fair. That's not what the strat says. I'll have to give it a go.

cheyrn wrote on 2017-12-11 21:45:54

Not a great strategy, but it's amusing to see 3 of these (I'm easily amused):

Mini Mindslayer x3
Amplify magic
Mana surge
if not dead, life exchange

Then the next and possibly the next.

rikapi wrote on 2017-05-30 21:25:08

I didn't play WoD so I'm still catching up - I found this was a great fight to grind the 150 wins for rank 3 building. I could just keep chain-fighting without bandaging after every fight by swapping turns 1 and 2 (Life Exchange to heal 1st turn, then Moonfire), and bandaging only when my NFD dies (and I clean up with Mindslayer and Mana Surge) at which point I go back to the original strat.

zenpunk wrote on 2017-05-15 17:38:53

I didn't have the Nether Faerie or Darter or Mindslayer ... just tried old faithful Emerald Proto Whelp and it was easily soloable... keep Presence up, otherwise Bite, Dream when less than 1k health.

alcaras wrote on 2016-09-17 03:03:11

Slight more reliable with:

Moonfire, Arcane Blast, Life Exchange, Arcane Blast, Moonfire, Arcane Blast until dead (if not alread)

Kreggy wrote on 2017-04-09 12:07:13

thanks this worked like a charm

Taelus wrote on 2016-08-27 04:22:25

Also works with Sprite Darter Hatchling.

Droz wrote on 2016-08-03 19:57:38

Did this fight change? Or is there specific breed needed? I get my tail handed to me using this.

Oomm wrote on 2016-08-03 20:49:57

I did this strat right now with P/B breed

Droz wrote on 2016-08-03 21:13:04

Ok, so maybe something wasn't working right. Tried again and destroyed him. Same pet, same strategy, but now I'm wasting him....weird.

Luigi wrote on 2015-06-14 09:39:59

Easily Soloadble with Nether Faerie Dragon. Moonlight>Life Exchange>Arcane Blast till dead.
