Mhh, wild boar! Are you sure you did not build your Garrison next to a small, fortified village surrounded by Roman armies?

I found that Wind Up instead of Demolish is much more reliable. After Demolish didn't land several times in a row and restarting got annoying, Wind Up gave me the win first try.

missed 5 times in a row... restarted 5 times now... finally hit 6th try. A 50% chance my ass.

TSP wrote on 2017-10-17 12:25:46

Two Ironstarlette is all you need. Just wind up, Super Charge and Wind up kills the first. Rense and repeat with 2nd one on second pet.

Lorantell wrote on 2017-10-02 17:26:44

Is there no tdscript for this fight?

Kessyra wrote on 2017-04-20 12:56:28

I just did this with P/S Iron Starlette - wind up supercharge windup kills Brutus - then Clockwork Gnome Build Turret and then Iron Fist to victory... Not sure if this works everytime but can have a third pet to mop up... and wouldn't require restarting if the Demolish misses...

Teck wrote on 2017-07-13 03:41:00

This script works fine for me, based on Kessyra's idea:

ability(Wind-Up) [self.round=1]
ability(Supercharge) [self.round=2]
ability(Wind-Up) [self.round=3]
ability(Wind-Up) [self.round=5]
ability(Supercharge)
ability(Wind-Up)
change(#2) [self(#1).dead]
ability(Build Turret)
ability(Metal Fist)

Hobbyhorse wrote on 2017-07-14 00:06:00

ability(Wind-Up) [self.round~1,3,5]
do cast Wind-Up in self.round 1, 3 and 5.

Infernal wrote on 2015-07-07 17:13:01

Another good comp for this is: Sunreaver micro-sentry and clockwork gnome

Use Fel immolate and then call lightning. Switch to clockwork and build turret, metal fist untill turret can be used again. Use turret, then switch in micro-sentry and call lightning. Pass and the turret will finish off the pet. Sunreaver will die and the final pet will get a small amount of xp for being sole survivor.

Absolutely, thanks for the suggestion :) I added it as an alternative!

Eekwibble wrote on 2017-03-31 03:01:54

For anyone trying to get this strat to work for the xp, don't bother. It's entirely rng dependent, and even on Sign of the Critter week, with Hat on, my lvl10 pet got 237xp. It's just not worth it.

I think this will work for H/H. Brutus' max damaging ability is Winter Spirit, which is 420 with racial. Brutus' rotation seems random, but let's take worst case.

After 3 Winter Spirits, H/H Starlette is down to 465 HP and has delivered (666*1.5*2.25) = 2247 damage, leaving Brutus at 147 or 148.

One Winter Spirit brings the Starlette down to 45 Brutus heals for 50, up to 200.

Powerball 222 kills Brutus, and boosts Starlette speed to (244 * 1.2) = 292, making it faster than Ruckus.

Ruckus enters. Starlette Wind-Up. Ruckus kills Starlette. Starlette resurrects and Wind-Up does 999 damage, bringing Ruckus down to 1498, and an easy target for the next mech.

I have assumed no crits with Winter Spirit (20% chance) but I have also assumed WS as a worst case all the way, which seems very unlikely. The actual expected damage per round is 303. I could work out the probabilities if Brutus' choices are random, but the great likelihood is that I have been pessimistic.

P.P.S. My Rematch team for this was still the old Lightning Storm set from the pre-nerf days.

I've just changed it to P/P Starlette: Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up (kills Brutus), Wind-Up, Wind-Up (reduces Rukus to half-health and then dies) followed by a P/S Starlette that does the same thing.

I'll get back to this to do the numbers for a H/H.

Gráinne

wrote on 2015-05-20 21:49:37

P.S. Since the Tonk is part of your standard roster for this series. I'd choose that as the sweeper in this case, even though sweeping will likely be unnecessary.

Gráinne

wrote on 2015-05-20 21:47:28

This worked perfectly for me today, after a couple of restarts.

Don't have time now, but would consider whether some variant of Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up would work. It will kill Brutus for P/ breeds, where it will deal a minimum of 1096 * 2.25 = 2466 damage. Tried it with P/P and P/S, and Brutus doesn't do enough in those 3 rounds to kill the Starlette. The only failure would be with a H/H, where it would do 2247 dmg, leaving Brutus at 148. But the H/H has an extra 325 HP, and one 222 Powerball would then finish Brutus ... but Brutus would be faster ... but we have our racial failsafe. Hm.

Then I think a fresh Gnome always beats or draws Rukus, barring crits, no matter where in Rukus' rotation he enters.
