The strat is faster and more reliable with a SS Wild Etherwyrm, but any breed will work unless you are very unlucky with rng.

This strategy is a combination of one by Flexmiqq and Shenk. I used Iron Starlette in place of Sunreaver Micro-Sentry as I did not have one. Worked like a charm on the first try. Have fun!

Only tested with P/B Iron Starlette and P/B Nether Faerie Dragon. Let me know if it works with other breeds.
Some chance of RNG if the Iron Starlette doesn't get off the second Wind-Up (On 3 tests, Iron Starlette always got off the second Wind-Up). This likely wouldn't be an issue with a faster Iron Starlette. |

There's a small chance that Burrow does low damage (488-490 of its 488-732 damage range) so Tika's Beast passive won't be active to kill Slugger with Face Bite in Round 4.
Runehoof's ability usage seems to be random, but Headbutt's Stun & Horn Attack's Interrupt trigger Resilient so it's very unlikely that Dibbler will suffer both of them and won't get Explode off. (10-12 rounds) |

The Sea Gull uses unattackable against Slugger's unattackable. Cerulean Moth and Nether Faerie Dragon are strong against 2nd and 3rd fighters. Note continue to check flying pets' speed advantage and don't use Counterspell once it goes away. I have found this team to work at least 4 out of 5 times.

This pet battle was a bit too easy almost. Parasitic boarfly is the mvp, and will be able too deal with Slugger and a chunk of Runehoof. Ashwing is also quicker then runehoof so you can finish him up to set up a clean victory against Moth balls RNG.

There are many strats that fail to a specific crit. That is a 5% chance. There is a significant number of strats on this site that fail to two specific crits. That is a 1 in 400 chance, so 99.75% as an upper bound, since there are other less likely ways for them to fail. But most people never try to understand strats, and just copy what others' work, and never ever notice. Until one day that low chance happens to them. Or, even more often, fail to follow directions and don't realise it.
When we get to some of the challenge strats in the Family achievements, of course, the reliability can get much lower.
When someone come along and points out WHY a specific strat can fail, that can be helpful, since people can then find improvements. When someone posts a useless "didn't work" comment, I just assume the mistake was on their end - PEBCAK.

IF Burrow hits high AND crits, it could do up to 1098 damage. That could kill RLH in R4, before it could get off its Club in that round, leaving Slugger with up to 625 HP, which would take 3 rounds for the DMD to kill, and, especially with bad luck on Runehoof's Headbutt, lead to a failure.
I suppose we could work out a probability tree for the actual numbers, but it's late.
I see a couple of high Burrows in DragonsAfterDark's logs below, but they all lead to the RLH getting its Club off in R4, even if it dies in R5, so I'll settle for saying that you need a pretty high (how high is that? 20% chance?) hit from Burrow, COMBINED WITH a Crit (5% chance) to cause a fail, so I'm guessing that's 1%-3% chance.

Re-reading Disco's post, Celestalon never specified when the crit is determined, and I don't see Disco incorporating crits in his Mathematica script.
And yes, crits being one-tailed does shift the probability. Nice catch. Thanks!

10 / 10 times DMD kills Runehoof
8 / 10 times RLH makes it to Runehoof
1 / 10 times RLH dies at the same time as Slugger
1 / 10 times Slugger kills RLH
If your pets are 25 and rare, it is mathematically impossible for DMD not to kill Runehoof with Ion Cannon.
This also means that 8/10 times the strat goes exactly as indicated above. And if I'd cared to finish the battle and not forfeit at Duster, it would have been 10/10 wins.

You also don't have to get any metal Fist hits with the DMD on Duster, it's there, again, just in case you survive long enough for it to happen. Nexus Whelp is more than able to finish Duster off.
If I tried to put every single iteration into the body of a strategy, some of them would be novelettes. You're allowed to do *some* thinking on your own.

Is it possible for RLH to die before SLugger, sure. Crits happen. However, minus those crits you're likely to see Runehoof with RLH
