The best way to make sure this strategy succeeds is to use the P/S breed of Iron Starlette. This makes sure that the IS is faster than pet 1 & 2. It is the only breed that outspeeds pet 1 & 2 without using Powerball. It might be viable for other breeds if you swapped Toxic Smoke with Powerball, but I haven't tested it, and it could also result in needing the Darkmoon Zeppelin to clean up on the MPD, but you do have a 3rd pet that isn't really used otherwise, so it would probably be safe to make the substitution.

You are right, I am using a P/S. I'm updating the strategy to specify that. I've always had this strategy succeed on one try with the P/S, I've yet to get the 3rd pet out. Sorry to anyone that failed for not making that clear. (edited)

Too rng, iron starlette dies too often before second wind-up on the mechanical dragon. I did it my 5th try. It's a good minimalist guide but very reliant on good rng

Doesn't work at all. Iron Starlette dies before Supercharge can be used for the second time.

Worked for me 2nd try. First time I got a really unlucky crit from MPD onto my starlette. I restarted and it was smooth sailing. I was not able to get the last toxic smoke off, but zeppelin took care of MPD with 2 missiles and still took out the tiger cub. Also works for the "mechanical battler" achievement with a random level 25 mech in the 3rd slot!
