This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!

Works quite well. Did not even need third pet. Thank you

Gráinne

Shadowlands test: This still works on the 9.0 PTR.

As on live, two crits at the start will bring the Valk to zero before it can Haunt, but that's a 1 in 400 chance, and once past that, Ikky and the Curse and the Haunt still kills Flummox without crits.

I suppose you could bring in a third, perhaps an undead with Ghostly Bite or something like that, as a third if you get very unlucky, but there should be no need.

Not sure what changed but having this exact team is a complete fail nowdays (multiple tries) Not even close, lowest hp for boss was 826

Gráinne

wrote on 2020-08-06 16:36:05

You don't say exactly what went wrong. I just tested, worked fine as always.

I think it is possible that if both Flummox's attacks crit, and your Valk is a B/B, it might be brought to zero and be unable to Haunt. That's pretty unlucky - one in 400.

Similarly, two crits on Punch on your Ikky might knock it below its racial too soon.

I'm guessing you just had a very unlucky day. As TSP wisely said two years ago, if you hav a backup Ikky or fast Anklerender, it might be good to keep in in the third slot for days like that!

I have to agree with Gráinne - I used this strat 3 times today (adding a Level 20 Jungle Grub as the first pet, hitting once and swapping out to my H/H Unborn Val'kyr, then proceeding exactly as per the strategy above). Smooth wins all three times.

ula wrote on 2017-12-01 11:10:36

you can use a mechanical pet lvl 18+ on the first slot, unborn valkyr, ikky.

1 - use any attack or pass, = you will die = and rez back.
2 - switch to unborn valkyr and continue the strategy above.

I used this strat. a few times and worked 100%... my mechanical pet got almost 5k xp during the bonus week event - I was using the safari hat - went from level 18 to 22.

Kessyra

I used a Magic Pet lvl 14 and this worked well. must be able to survive the dot after switching out. Not sure how low lvl you could go with magic

Camlas

wrote on 2018-06-17 14:10:38

Mechanical leveling pet needs at least 1136 hp to survive. A magic pet needs at least 500 hp. Assuming they don't take any crits. Also, any leveling pet with an ability like dodge works.

Khes

wrote on 2018-03-12 20:06:46

my UBV was only level 21 and this strat still worked great

Kreggy wrote on 2017-04-07 11:38:40

I have been putting a lvling pet in first slot then either passing or using an ability then swapping to unborn and ikky as described above. So far have used 15+ leveling pets and it has been fine

Rokka

wrote on 2017-12-05 00:15:02

Above TD Script modified to allow lvl pet in slot 1:
(make sure lvl pet is 15+ to survive first attack and DOT)

standby [round=1]
change(#2) [self(#1).active]
ability(218)
ability(652)
change(#3) [self(#2).dead]
ability(919) [!enemy.aura(918).exists]
ability(581)

If you have a 2nd Ikky use it just to be on the safe side!

Scyre

wrote on 2018-02-27 22:17:29

Another option...
Snowfeather Hatchling 1,2,1
Lost Nether Pup 2,2,2
Dire Beak Hatchling 1,2,1

1) crouch
2) Falcosaur Swarm
3) predatory Strike
4) falcosaur swarm
You die here but he has 2 rounds of debuff
Bring in the pup
5) Howl (now you have two debuffs of 100% damage)
6) Shadow shock (He may die here)
7) Dark flame
you die here
8) Iron Skin
9) falcosaur swarm (he may die on this second round)
10) predatory strike

Hello ! For Those who want to do with all undead I found a SImple Effect strategy.
Restless Shadeling (1,2,2) Unborn Val'kyr (2,2,2) and Any Pet to do 200dmg
Step 1 - Phase Shift
Step 2 - Death and Decay
SWAP to Unborn
Step 3 - Curse of Doom
Step 4 - Unholy Ascension
Bring in Restless Shadeling
Spam Shadow Shock till dead bring in Last undead to finish the Job !

ability(Flock)
ability(Hunting Party)
change(#2)

DireBeak Team Rumble - DireBeak Plus 2 Humanoid.. Sister of Temptation and Lil Bad Wolf plus Direbeak. Sister 1,2,1 Wolf 1,2,1 Direbeak 1,2,2 (use warning squawk Predatory strike is ineffective here.)

Absolute rubish is this strategy. Nothing about it works at all.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-06-14 22:31:28

I got it to work second time, as the first time Haunt missed. Make sure both Curse of Doom and Haunt hit their mark.

A black comedy:

Sharptalon Team Rumble while this quest is up.

EDIT: Thank you. :D

tPaste wrote on 2017-03-06 19:09:22

I had that happen, I actually was able to complete it with:
Court Scribe and Creeping Tentacle

Turn 1 - curse of doom
Turn 2 - swap to creeping tentacle
Turn 3 - creeping insanity
Turn 4 - swap to sharptalon
Turn 5+ - Falconsaur Swarm!

Remember - your Falconsaur doesn't need to survive to get credit.

Bill wrote on 2017-06-14 17:04:00

This also works with Lesser Voidcaller and Creeping Tentacle.

Jagûar

wrote on 2017-04-19 11:34:49

Snowshoe Hare lvl 19 Rare with 1-2-1 in first slot. I used Burrow as ability, could also have passed or used dodge... Then otherwise followed the strat as written above. My Level pet got 1 whole lvl with Safari Hat on, so it's not much. Doable indeed.

Duffdog7576 wrote on 2017-01-12 11:47:16

Pet 1: Cockroach (1 2 2)
Pet 2: Frostwolf Ghostpup (1 1 1)
Pet 3: Rabbit (1 2 1)

1- Cast Cockroach's Apocalypse immediately and then swap him out for your Frostwolf.
2- Cast Refuge and then swap back to the cockroach. Let him attack you and dodge, then swap to your Cottontail and dodge.
3- With your Cottontail, Cast Dodge and Burrow between attacks and try to spend as many turns as you can until you die.
4- When dead, bring back out your Frostwolf. Recast Refuge and then cast Frolick. Start praying RNG is on your side for some dodges. You have the undead passive on your side for an extra turn to be spent too.
5- If and when your Ghostpup is dead you should be 2 or 3 maybe 4 turns left until Apocalypse. Try to spend some time keeping him busy and use Survival as a last ditch effort.

Remte

That one with another rabbit instead of Ghostpup is already contained in the Family Familiar section. :-)
