I recommend the Sprite Darter Hatchling if you have one, due to its higher health. If the one Tidal Wave that hits your leveling pet crits, you will fail. There is also one or two other scenarios where a series of unlucky crits by either the opponent's pets or your pets can cause this strategy to fail. Pet breed substitutions: PP Nexus Whelpling and PS Zandalari Kneebiter are the most consistent breeds, but other breeds may work with reduced consistency: Nexus Whelpling - other breeds as well as Stormborne Whelpling may work. Unfortunately, the strategy isn't perfect. If the one Tidal Wave that hits your leveling pet crits, you will fail. There is also one or two other scenarios where a series of unlucky crits by either the opponent's pets or your pets can cause this strategy to fail. But I am still happy with it as it works most of the time and allows you to level nearly any level 1 pet.

I moved Gizmo to slot 1, Whelpling to slot 2 and used the below script to get it down to 8 rounds if you don't care about pet leveling.

Perhaps in the realities of Dragonflight, the tactics of the enemy were changed, or maybe it was, but it is possible to pump level 1 pets only magical or mechanical breeds. With the first attack Sunlight, the enemy kills a youngster, even resistant to such attacks from the breed Critter.

There is a note above the strat:
"lvl pets with <238hp --> 50% XP except magic and mechanical pets they always get 100% XP"

What that means is that levelling pets with less than 238 HP will die, but since 9.1.5, they still get 50% of XP, even if they die. Magic and Mech pets cannot ddie from one hit, so they will get 100% of XP.

this is the first gizmo one i've seen. I wonder if gizmo and mancer will be use more.

If you like Gizmo, you can always make your own strats for him. :)

Gizmo's strong point is the mighty combo of Prowl and Arcane Dash. That's especially good against Flyers, ofc. Look for battles where taking down a Flyer quickly is especially valuable - maybe one ofthe Ardenweald battles?

I've used him in 7 strategies here since I got him. I love that he's an in-game replacement for Brightpaw ^^
