failed occasionally for me. Usually works but takes long to kill Direflame. I tried replacing Razortooth with Chrominius and doing Howl/Surge of Power which won't kill Direflame. Next test will be Starlette.

My Rapana Whelk managed to kill Direflame, but due to having snake backline pets, both the times I tried doing this strat, my Proto Drake died before it could do any good damage. (edited)

I know this is an older fight but the script and strat don't work any longer or it's just to rng based for the Direflame. I had to try 4 different ways and the best way I found was Blood in the Water Lighting Shield Rip Rip Blood in the water and he's under 100 Health every time. rest works out okay

This way worked for me. It also gave my snail an extra round with the 2nd pet, which was a rare fen crab and kept destroying my snail and proto-whelp.

not working for me. i tried shimmershell and switcihng the order on lightening shield. The snake just slaughters the snails. i don't have Scooter leveled.

I just tried it to check and it worked perfectly. H/B Rapana, P/P EPW.

I was fairly lucky with the backline pets though - Green Toad and Moth.

I don't think anything has changed, but the Tanaan Fel Corruptions were always subject to RNG.

I had better luck using Scooter the Snail (who is H/H and has 1969 HP) to survive longer through the dang snake's attacks, then switched from my P/S Emerald Proto-Whelp to my P/P one who hits harder (they both have the same HP and are both slower than the snake).

Also, I switched the Electrified Razortooth's Lightning Shield to turn 2 so it hits an extra time and Blood in the Water is still a 100% chance to hit as the Bleed is still up from Rip.

Lastly, I seem to get better results doing Emerald Presence first then Emerald Dream throughout the Tanaan Jungle fights.

Agreed. Switching Lightning Shield to round two kills Direflame a round earlier, which means he only gets off two AOE's not three, and the backline only has about 7 rounds of the buff, not 10.

I also used Scooter for the H/H health, and used Absorb in slot 1. Then use that rather than Ooze Touch, use Dive on CD, make sure to keep Shell Shield up, and Scooter can soak most all of the duration of the enemy buff. By the time the Proto-Whelp gets in it's easy mode from there. (edited)

Last time I checked Shimmershell Snail H/P breed is the ideal snail. Lots of health with good power. Power enhances the defense Shell Shield provides.

Yup, works fine. Of course, as with all Tanaan strats, he gets off two Fel Corruptions, and if one or both of them crits, you can be in trouble. That's just the inbuilt RNG.
