Sputtertube was down by round 6, and I used Consume Magic on my second round with Ghastly Kid. I don't think you need to worry about Haunt, since Sputtertube's moves are static, and even if the Kid dies in its second or first round due to a crit the third pet should be more than able to soak up a hit, since as you said, the DoTs kill him.

Since my suggestion doesn't reflect the current layout of the strat, I'll put the script here:

worked fine for me. didnt even need to do consume magic once. Boneshard used 2x Chop and just spammed Hoof with Ghastly Kid

Basically it' the DoTs that Boneshard loads on the target that kills him, any pet that can self-heal is good for the second slot
