I had a P/S Kneebiter, P/B Toenibbler, and S/S Anklerender.
From what i am reading in comments you want more p/b or p/p breeds as speed does not hit the minimum damage. |

Bruce is of course capable of creating some problems, but I've found that this seems to have the most consistent results for myself.
I have not tested this with any other breeds other than what I have, so results might be slightly different. Anklerender and Footlasher: P/P I feel the Lurking Owl Kitten works well against Bruce due to being able to be faster and exploit his weakness. |

After that I used a Pygmy Direhorn (1,1,1) I used Primal Cry 1st to slow Bruce down and used Horn Attack 1st to try and get a free move in against this sod and then alternated that with Trihorn Charge.
Once he was dead I used a Zandalari with Black Claw and Hunting Party to finish off.

Ironically, the only one that seems to work with any reliability is the Critter, mostly because it takes Bruce out of the fight and lets Apocalypse deal with him.
Your strat worked with some variation on my end.
I simply could not get Bruce with Shattered Defenses for my Direhorn Runt's first attack. Bruce's stun would either land on Silithid Mini-Tank, then kill him, allowing Shattered Defenses to wear off. Or it would stun the Direhorn Runt, which also allowed Shattered Defenses to wear off.
So, instead, I opened with Primal Cry and alternated between Horn Attack and Trihorn Charge.
