Substitutes:

1
Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

1 / 3

1
Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Strat works really great but does not follow the above explanation... Trunks does way more damage than the instructions give credit, and my pets were way ahead of the strat all the way thru. Works great with the minor adjustments for my pets living longer than than anticipated

Not Owner of strat but did test in Beta: Works just fine as it is with these pets.
Notes: Script might need to be redone... For some reason it let me do this one over and over. EVERY single time (10) Trunks kills Scales on the 2nd Smash. Beaker comes in and Trunks dies there.. Bring in Nexus Whelpling, Arcane Storm, Mana Surge, Breaker then dies with Nexus Whelpling at over half life. In comes Stickers, Arcane Storm and 1 tail whip and he's dead too. Never brought in the 3rd pet in all 10 battles. (edited)

Flayer Youngling (2,2,2) works in place of Trunks too. Fairly certain any breed will work. Deflection, Rampage, Triple Snap until dead.

Mharkos wrote on 2020-06-28 05:53:20

Tky, it works perfectly

DragonsAfterDark

wrote on 2019-09-22 15:02:14

Somewhat more streamlined script, if you like:

ability(Ethereal:998) [enemy.ability(Blinding Poison:1049).usable]
ability(Headbutt:376) [round=2]
ability(Arcane Storm:589) [self.round=1]
ability(Mana Surge:489)
ability(Predatory Strike:518) [enemy(Stickers:2371).hp<696]
ability(#1)
standby
change(next)

The strat worked well. :)

Gilnean Raven and Direbeak Hatchling handles this fight with ease open with raven darkness - Nouturnal Strike, alpha strike took out the snake and almost the bird.

meddle wrote on 2018-09-15 12:48:47

Any good rabbit (Dust Bunny for example) suffices vs. her first pet. Dodge > Burrow after Dodge fades > Flurry for priority.

Sonti wrote on 2018-09-10 06:25:21

I don't have any of those suggested first pets..I used a Ghastly Kid and have done it twice now with it. Works great no problems.

maisali wrote on 2018-08-16 06:30:38

trunks can be replaced with chi-chi.. ethereal, wild magic, alpha strike

Zarria wrote on 2018-08-16 11:12:49

I didn't have Trunks, or Chi-Chi, or Razzashi Hatchling. Sentintel's Companion worked perfectly. Thanks!

Modified tdScript if using Sentinel Companion (2,2,2):

if [enemy(#1).active]
use(Ethereal:998) [enemy.round=1]
use(Soulrush:752)
use(Dark Talon:1233)
endif
if [enemy(#2).active]
use(Dark Talon:1233) [enemy.round=1]
change(#2)
use(Arcane Storm:589) [enemy.round=3]
use(Mana Surge:489)
endif
if [enemy(#3).active]
use(Tail Sweep:122)
standby [self(#3).aura(Polymorphed:822).exists]
change(#3) [self.aura(Polymorphed:822).exists]
change(#3) [self(#2).dead & !self(#3).active]
use(Predatory Strike:518) [enemy.hp<=695]
use(Falcosaur Swarm!:1773)
endif

Sorry about the script kinda dry coded it, this one should work now.

Carol wrote on 2018-08-16 17:15:21

I think the script needs and update, when I press auto nothing happens, had to do it manual after the pet died before trunks.

Porkgrind wrote on 2018-08-16 13:54:42

I used Razzashi Hatchling instead of trunks and it worked like a charm. Never touched my 3rd pet.

Kitsyn wrote on 2018-08-16 12:19:44

Didn't even need direbeak. Nice work

wizjany

wrote on 2018-08-16 11:35:43

the td script doesn't seem to be switching pets right now. it just pauses after each pet dies and I have to manually swap.
