Wel, I just checked, and logged my battle, and it worked exactly as expected by the strat - except that the Idol's Sandstorm did more damage because of the demented Shadowlands weather buff.

From the numbers, I can't see how it's possible for the EPW to die before killing Kali, even with bad RNG. (And I was using a P/S EPW just to check it; a P/P would have been better.)

I think you must have made a mistake somewhere.

This is a long battle that never really works out as it's written. The Idol always dies before Ashtail. It succeeds only if you keep up Emerald Defense and Incinderous chooses to use Swarm despite the fact that it does no damage.

Edit: Plus, I don't think there are any level 1 pets with 700 hp... (edited)

Since Crush is an RNG attack, I updated this strategy. With the Emerald Proto-Whelp before the i]Anubisath Idol it's perfect, now.

using an h/h idol and an H/S emerald whelp I cannot seem to get this strat to work either. My idol seems to die too early - (ashtail is still up, sometimes the idol is dead as he comes in) Not sure why its an issue but after 12 tries... moving onto something else.
