The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Pretty quick and easy. Valkyr sets up the bomb and the bonus damage. Anklerender sets up more damage bonus and a damage multiplier. Bomb goes off, and your Crab (or whatever pet you have that has Surge) finishes it off.

Low XP
Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

Small fix so that UV uses Shadow Shock after Unholy Ascension:

change(#2) [self(#1).dead]
change(#3) [self(#2).dead]
ability(Curse of Doom:218)
ability(Unholy Ascension:321) [!enemy.aura(Unholy Ascension:320).exists]
ability(Black Claw:919) [!enemy.aura(Black Claw:918).exists]
ability(#1)

So, I have each breed for the Anklerender/Kneebiter pets, and the only breed that didn't work (RNG from being one-shotted aside) was the S/S version of those pets. It didn't have enough power between Black Claw and Hunting Party for Surge from my P/P Emperor Crab to reliably take down Kelpstone, so I'd remove the S/S breed from the options. I'm not sure there's a pet with Surge that has a higher power rating than the P/P Emperor Crab, so it's safe to say that barring a crit from the Raptor or the P/P Crab, the S/S won't work most of the time.

Also, while I don't have an H/H crab, I grabbed a pet with a similar power rating (292), and tested that with the 305 power raptor breeds, and it worked out okay.

The problem comes in with the one-shot, which happened to me about every 5-6 fights. Using Ikky or Foulfeather in slot #2 makes sense, since you'll have the speed buff. However, keep in mind that Stonerush will crit for 1380, which is just above Ikky's HP of 1319. If you really want to make sure this pans out, I'd say use a Foulfeather, since its lowest HP is 1400. It should survive a crit.

Even though Foulfeather has the same power rating as the S/S raptor, you get two rounds of Shattered Defenses from Foulfeather instead of one from the raptor, and that makes all the difference. Even my weakest pet with Surge (236 power) was able to finish Kelpstone off.

I hope this was helpful :)

yeah not sure why anklerender is showing up there as the default, as it's a horrible RNG-heavy option. put in Ikky, and beat it easily.

Jellylicious wrote on 2019-08-20 20:12:58

I still haven't leveled my Zandalari pets but a P/S Chitterspine Skitterling worked fine in its place with *2 2, Black Claw, and Swarm in place of hunting party.

Doesn't work reliably with either Anklerender or Anklebiter, the Surge from Emperor Crab doesn't kill him so he heals to half health and you die. Ikky instead of those worked first try though

Hmm, I'm sorry to hear that. It's working for me every time, so I assume there must be a breed requirement.

Gráinne

wrote on 2019-07-27 23:33:50

Not breed, I think. I just tried it and logged it to test. Kelpstone's speed is 403, so anything you can bring except a very fast flyer will be slower.

The possible weak point is that if Kelpstone crits with Stone Rush in Round 4, the raptor never gets to start Hunting Party. So, a 5% chance of failure from that.

Simalla wrote on 2019-07-03 23:19:44

Anklerender wasn't working so I swapped in Ikky and it worked.
