Swap out the first snail with a Corefire Imp (2,1,2), casting immolate and wild magic, then swap to the snail and Chi-Chi goes down pretty fast, no need to go through the rotation over and over.

I'd used this strategy several times with excellent success. Once I had collected all of the CT pets, I started looking for leveling strategies. Since the first two snails usually handled the battle without the third one needed, I added a L1 pet in the first slot. Chi-Chi casts Tranquility, so no damage to leveler. I then switched to my first snail and picked up the strategy from Turn 3 (Dive) and continued from there. It's usually a close battle; but, so far, effective. If you try it, please bear in mind that YMMV. Have fun! Hugs to Xu-Fu for the great site.
