I don't know whether breeds will matter, but I used P/P for Nexus and P/S for Stormborne.
UPDATED 14/May/23 based on feedback from comments to combat RNG--I put a second Nexus Whelpling in since it can be captured wild, but swap in any other pet with Arcane Storm and Mana Surge. Cheers to helpful commenters who have suggested some options!

Since my improved version of this strategy was unpublished and will be deleted (due to it being mostly a duplicate), here is how to fix this strategy:
- Simply bring 3 pets that all have both Arcane Storm and Mana Surge: Nexus Whelpling, Stormborne Whelpling, Stormie and Senega will work here
- It doesn't matter how many of each you bring (you can bring 3 of the same if you want)
- Then simply use this script:

Had sort of a similar idea, used Nexus Whelpling, Stormie, and cleaned up with a Twilight Whelpling (Twilight Meteorite and Darkflame), for pets that are easy to get currently. P/P for the Nexus and P/B for the Twilight, though I think as long as they're P/something it should work fine.

The H/P Stormie is tanky, which might help with the issue some are having.

Did not have any Issues with this one, it was a close call but my Whelplings did just fine. Lil' Tarecgosa for backup just in case may be advisable, though.

Adding Tarecgosa did not work for me , I used Anomalus 2/2/x as second pet with great success.

Each whelpling takes care of 1 pet. This strategy does not work unless you get a third useful pet in. I used Lil' Tarecgosa and used Surge of Power to finish it off. (edited)

This is not a good strategy that is being presented.Both my nexus and stormborne whelping died to non crits hit and the third talon had full hp (beside the arcane storm hits).I got lucky my third pet 1vs1 him properly.The 2 pets provided can 1vs1 their counterpart but there is need of a third pet that guarantees the win.
