I consistently lost with 2-14 health left on Mar'cuus. Using a combination of strats I found, I used a S/S Sprite Darter Hatchling in the first slot for the Life Exchange ability. I then switched turns 8 and 9 so that I used Call Lightening first and then Thunderbolt. Hope that helps someone as frustrated as I was!

Even if you couldn't pass because your pet died, go on. It works! I ended with a Stormborne Whelping having full life!

This worked perfectly first time. Each of the pets only has one breed each so as long as Mar'cuus doesn't crit it'll work as described.
