Tried this one twice. First time, my two main pets died and the level pet couldn't finish the fight. Second time, my level pet got killed by the aoe attack of the 2nd enemy pet. He was level 14. I'm guessing this strategy might work but I wouldn't label it "reliable." Based on the enemy abilities this is definitely more RNG.

I agree this is not a good strategy at all. Or maybe the instructions are not written well enough. Tried this strategy multiple time and pets die each time.

I still stand by this strategy but I'm still semi tweaking it. I have had situations where leveling pet took over 1k damage so I'm also researching the best minimum health just to be safe.

I've had more luck using a Pandaren Fire Spirit in place of the Lava Crab. It's got less health so it doesn't live as long, but it does about 70 more damage per turn that its alive.

TDscript below. I recommend starting the Cauterize below 1200 instead of 1100, but this script uses 1100 to match the strategy. Sometimes Lava Crab dies on the first enemy pet, but this strategy and script still seems to work, barely, if that happens:

FYI, a Pandaren Water Spirit (1-1-2, Geyser and Healing Wave when off CD) can easily solo this fight!

My carry pet had to finish the fight - luckily it was a level 23 (aquatic, so no family bonuses/penalties). Should probably add the RNG tag to this one, but I like the simplicity of it.

This strategy might fail because of RNG (like many others).
My carry pet died last turn of fight because of the background damage of "Repaired" Portable Fire Starter. (carry pet lvl 22 with 1200+ hp).
Luckily it was undead so it took xp because it was the last round.
But it's probably rare because my first try was really easy and with minimum background damage :)
