This is a wonderful strategy I found on wowhead, published by Thulsadoom on April 6 2017 (link). With this you can level two pets, assuming they have more than 250hp. It works every time and I think it should be shared here too. I also made a script for it (my first!), hope it works out for you!

A little quicker than other strats here.
Leveling pet has to survive a 248 elemental hit on turn 2. Its possible to kill the first and second pet quicker than the turn order here with a crit, I updated the script to handle this. With a crit you can knock off anywhere from 1-3 turns. |

This strategy was originally posted by WoWHead user ender1111. It's notable because it blinds the turn 1 Sunlight ability, allowing any level 1 to survive, regardless of HP. I designed the script around a S/S Mech Scorpion & P/S Eternal Strider, so I can't guarantee it'll work with other breeds.

This is a variation of Remte's strat with Saintgabrial's switch to the Zep, David G's workarounds for pesky crits, and my own change of the Zep's abilities so that it works 100% of the time without ever having to restart it. The basic, crit-free method is written here, the workarounds are buried in the TDScript.

I use P/S Jademist Dancer, but i'm confident the S/S would give similar results. The slower breeds will also work, but you will need to Start with Acid Rain, and adjust accordingly.
Backline Carry Pet takes about 165 damage from Sunlight--more for Mechanical, less for Critter. (You could use just about any mechanical with anti-beast damage to finish, or a Mechanical Axebeak) |

Level pet min health for non-Rematch users: Critters: 290, Non-Critters: 436; Mechanicals: 654 Thanks to Failsafe, Mechanical levelers will be fine with less than 654HP. But since the leveler will receive three hits, this is not straightforward to calculate. (Roughly 400HP should be OK.) Instead of the Blind Rat you can also use a Frostfur Rat. Instead of the Menagerie Custodian you can use any pet with strong attacks against Beasts. Be creative! |

Another thought, I may well investigate trying this with a Microbot XD in the last slot for a "Supercharge" "Ion-Cannon" 1-2 kill. Watch this space for details. (edited)

However, Ion Cannon hits for 732, and I did not see an Elite buff on Brood (I should have checked more closely before finishing!) so I didn't need an extra Missile. My Ion Cannon did hit for the full 732 and my Shock and Awe for the full 439.

That said, I just tried it with a Microbot XD (*,2,2) in the bottom slot, and got a reliable kill with Supercharge / Ion Cannon. I'll be switching to that strat for this one for now.

The strat as written here, and using an Aqua Strider, works, unless Siren's Solar Beam crits (5% chance), or unless the Pump into Toothbreaker crits. The Pump crit has happened to me occasionally. You can still win in that case, but I always have to wake up and think where I am instead of following the strat when it happens.
HOWEVER, as written here today, I see two points of failure:
1. Siren's Sunlight does 165 damage to the backline pets, excluding any family effects. Most Level 1 pets don't have 165 health, and certainly not 248 to be safe against a crit. I suggest a health limit on the levelling pet. I see Remte noted this in the comments long ago.
2. Both of Nishi's first two pets have speeds of 280. The Skimmer/Strider/whatever in the first slot needs speed >280. Some of the possible substitutes offered - Fishy, Sea Pony, P/P Freshwater Crawler - don't. I suggest a speed requirement > 280 in the Slot 1 pet.

P.S. Just as an aftrthought, I'm pretty sure "Aqua Strider - pump - cleansing rain - pump, Strider dies" can't happen even with a crit from Solar Beam, though I'm not in-game to check now. (edited)

iirc not even a sunbeam crit will kill the strider. i think the few times mine died early was against toothbreaker. and it won't matter that much because toothbreaker runs out of steam very fast anyway (edited)

When you fail a battle, all the information that exists about a battle is in your log after completing it, so my basic answer to everything is: READ. YOUR. LOG. Other people can read their logs for you, and interpret them for you, but you will never learn that way. You will never figure out whether the battle went bad because of RNG built into the game, like crits, hit chances, damage ranges, or because of breeds and abilities. Only the log will tell you that.
I went back to last August and pulled my tests of this strat. I paste the log from one test below. It has all the information you could ever want.

Anubisath (Crush, Sandstorm, Deflection) + two leveling pets.
First sandstorm, next crush, then deflection (solar beam). Crush til deflection off CD, use again. Toothbreaker submerges ASAP, so swap in low levels first two turns (sandstorm protects them). Then roll on with crushing. For Brood, Crush Crush Deflect, repeat.
I'm pretty sure I used some variation of this myself back in Mists, before I had All The Pets.
I do see an Anub and Tonk strat available here, which is probably similar, just using the Tonk to speed up the third kill.
Allowing people to enter their own strats has been a huge success for Xu-Fu's, but it has discouraged people from just leaving their ideas in the comments, which was always one of the site's strengths. It could be done without committing to a sign-up and taking a couple of hours to find their way around the editor and lay out a strat properly.

I'm not sure if you're the same David G that posted the work-arounds below for 1-shotting the elementals but I've written a TDScript that includes them. I'll post it on the alt 3 page tomorrow as I've not tested it fully yet and I've already defeated Nishi today.

Any Strider/Skimmer that's faster than 280, Darkmoon Tonk and a Level Pet.
Pump
Cleansing Rain
Water Jet until Siren dies
(Toothbreaker comes out)
Pump
Cleansing Rain
Water Jet until Toothbreaker dies
(Brood of Mothallus comes out)
Pump
Swap to Level pet
Swap to Darkmoon Tonk
Ion Cannon
The only problem I've ever had, was that Mothallus had a crit with his first leeching spell, and ended up with more than 1098 HP, but I just nuked him with Shock and Awe once the Tonk had recovered.

1: Pump
2: Pass
3: Cleansing Rain
4: Pump (*)
5: Pump
6+ Water Jet till Toothbreaker dies.
(*) If this pump crits as well, then just Water Jet Brood of Mothallus to 50% health, and then chain pass till you die.
If you don't crit against Siren, but do crit and get a one hit kill with the round 1 Pump vs Toothbreaker, then just as above, Water Jet till either you die, or Brood of Mothallus hits half health, and then chain pass.
Clean up as noted with a Darkmoon Tonk. The one thing to watch for with the Tonk is that you don't want Brood of Mothallus doing an Absorb on the round you Explode, otherwise you risk not killing him.
I usually ensure that doesn't happen by dropping him below 618, and only then casting Decoy. If he does an Absorb on that round, you have the option to cast a single Missile to get him back below 618, after which you can explode safely. With the CD on Absorb, he can cast it the round you Explode, but the Decoy will still be up thatround which will guarantee to block it.

Although the comments about crits with the strider still stand.

Turn 5+ Water Jet until Siren dies
Toothbreaker comes in
Turn 1 Pump
Turn 2 Cleansing Rain

Also today Toothbreaker got a crit on my Aqua Strider so my Darkmoon tonk had to do 2 missiles then explode.

Though I prefer crossing Pump and Water Jet dependably on the enemy HP left (and keeping possible damage buffs), if a Pump crits, it's waaay faster. ;-)
