Seems to be working. It might be more consistent using "Extra Plating", but I haven't tested that yet. Script brings in the levelling pet as a last ditch effort if Anubisath Idol dies. It hasn't had to yet, but it's been close a couple of times.

Patch 9.1 confirmed. But my lil'bling died early and my qiraji guardling was not able to finish off, so my leveling pet had to finish it (and was able to do so)

Had no problems with this strat. Ended the fight with 1519 HP left on Idol (88%). Modification I made to it though was to when Needleback (Mo'ruk's last pet) comes out to time it to use Deflection when Needleback's Headbutt comes off cooldown. Seemed very easy and quick.
