Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

This is my first posted strategy.

On occasion, the Court Scribe can die early due to Salty Bird's crits, but Ghostly Skull can finish the battle. The TD Script can handle this scenario but the steps below will slightly change.

Takes approximately 1m45s to complete battle. On Bonus Pet Battle week with Safari hat, can bring a pet from Level 1-25 in 2 battles.

High XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 1+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

With a HH Ghostly Skull I find it good to edit the script to set the last pet's health check to <=666. So:

ability(Ghostly Bite:654) [enemy.hp<=666]

This strat was brought up in the Warcraft Pets discord, and here's what I posted over there:

1 -- There's really no reason to do a pet swap instead of just letting the Court Scribe stay in. Even without crits, it was dead by round 3 with Grommet, making the pet swap super simple.

2 -- Add the third slot ability for the Court Scribe as Curse of Doom, so (1,1,2)

3 -- Here's what I'd do for this strat:

Round 1 - 6 : Arcane Blast until Itchy is dead.
Round 7: Consume Magic
Round 8-10: Arcane Blast until Salty Bird is dead.
Round 9: Curse of Doom on Grommet
Round 10+: Arcane Blast until Court Scribe is dead.
Bring in your Level Pet
Swap to your Undead pet of choice with Undead ability in slot #1
Round 1+: Shadow Slash / Undead attack for slot #1 until Grommet dies.

Court Scribe should die before Curse of Doom goes off, allowing the pet swap

Here's a script. This works with the level pet in slot #2. So:

Court Scribe / Level Pet / Undead Pet

I never did understand why people put the level pet in slot #3 when they're the second pet to come in.

change(#3) [self(#2).active]
ability(Curse of Doom:218) [enemy(#3).active]
ability(Consume Magic:1231) [enemy(#2).active]
ability(#1)
change(next)

Court Scribed died before salty bird died, but the last pet still carried through.

Even with an uncommon Ghostly Skull, this usually worked. A few times the Gull was able to kill the Scribe, and only once did the whole team fail.

Here's my script, which seems to mitigate RNG, with the level pet in 2nd slot.

--BEGIN
change(next) [!self.level.max]
change(next) [self.dead]
standby [self.aura(Stunned:174).exists]
use(Consume Magic:1231) [self.aura(Whirlpool:512).duration=1 & !self.hp.full]
use(Consume Magic:1231) [self.aura(Cyclone:189).exists]
use(Consume Magic:1231) [self.aura(Shattered Defenses:542).exists]
use(Curse of Doom:218) [enemy(#3).active & enemy.hp>406]
use(Consume Magic:1231) [!enemy(#1).active]
if [enemy(#3).active]
use(Siphon Life:212) [!enemy.aura(Siphon Life:211).exists]
ability(Ghostly Bite:654)
endif
use(#1)
test(END)

after leveling a few pets with this script I made a few changes where the grommet isn't dead and the script doesn't know what to do.... I saw it 4 times before I made the following changes. This successfully completed 30 battles

change(#3) [enemy(#3).active & !self(#3).played]
change(#3) [self(#1).dead & !self(#3).played]
change(#2) [self(#3).active]

--change back to the court scribe if he isn't dead
change(Court Scribe:1931) [self(Ghostly Skull:190).dead]

if [enemy(Itchy:1800).active]
ability(Arcane Blast:421)
endif

use(Consume Magic:1231)
if [enemy(Salty Bird:1801).active]
ability(Arcane Blast:421)
endif

standby [self.aura(Stunned:174).exists]
ability(Ghostly Bite:654) [enemy.hp<=768]
ability(Shadow Slash:210)

-- if we have switched back to the court scribe AND this isn't salty ie grommet
ability(Arcane Blast:421)
-- the skull and scribe are dead so the leveling pet use the 1st ability
ability(#1)

Good strategy but is susceptible to RNG, depending on "Salty Bird" critting your Court Scribe.
With not much luck the scenario is salvageable, especially if the level pet is higher end.
