  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

First Strategy I have ever done had alot of issues at this boss hope this helps someone out! Sorry if confusing let me know and I will try to clear it up.

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Awesome strategy. Here is a tdscript for this:

change(#1) [ self.aura(Apocalypse).duration=1 ]
ability(Apocalypse)
ability(Survival) [ self.aura(Apocalypse).duration <=1 ]
change(#2) [ self.round=2 ]
ability(Renewing Mists) [ self.round = 1]
ability(Wish)
ability(Renewing Mists)

This script stalled after the BLP entered its undead phase, hit an ability on the beetle and it started working again, but it stopped after the rat died the first time.
Works perfectly otherwise, thank you!

Changed a few lines and the following will pass when Renewing Mists is still up and prevent the issue Fiamma29 encountered. Makes the fight a little faster time-wise. Regardless, the strat and rubydruid's script are brilliant.

change(#1) [ self.aura(Apocalypse).duration=1 ]
ability(Apocalypse)
ability(Survival) [ self.aura(Apocalypse).duration <=1 ]
change(#2) [ self.round=2 & !enemy.aura(Undead).exists ]
ability(Renewing Mists) [ !self.aura(Renewing Mists).exists ]
ability(Wish)
standby

keep trying to 5 star stuff but the site is weird, strat is great, works in pre patch

Aime wrote on 2019-08-03 21:25:22

This strat has worked wonders before but for some reason apocalypse has been missing the bloated rat each time it goes off, no matter what. Very frustrating

If your apocalypse-casting pet dies, then it will miss when it hits!

Beetle/Emperor Crab with shell shield and renewing mists - cake!

Even here the ravenous prideling with disruption, the only ability that can dispell enemy buffs atm, has its use, you can dispell the buff the enemy has, so that he no longer kills the pet that is active when he dies, this pet also has equalize and with 2 more nether faerie dragons it went quite easy, basically this way you can even have only 1 pet alive when he dies and you win, instead of 2 you'd normally need.

Alex wrote on 2019-06-30 16:31:29

Baa'l, a turtle and crab may have this one, with crawdad then definitely.

This strat, while a bit long, is reliable. Thumbs up! On a night where rng killed all my snails etc.. finding this was great. Thanks for posting it

If you want to level some pet without risking its life during this battle you can let your Crawdad die from Apocalypse and let your Beetle die because the Rat dies. The remaining pet will get all exp. It's not a lot, but personally I like to get some exp along the way.

Great failproof strat. The Unborn/Ikky strat failed for me today so this was a great backup. I'd recommend just passing and only cast Renewing Mist when it has one round left, and Wish on CD, to speed it up a bit.

Petigree

wrote on 2019-01-01 16:33:31

I tried the more popular Gulp strat which didn't work for me. Keeping heals up and waiting for the Apocalypse to tick down worked well.

Thank you! Had to level my crawdad just for this, but it's a much more reliable strategy.

Thank you! After trying two other strategies, including one that worked on the first run through, yours let me kill that disgusting rat.

I even had my hare die after i used dodge at the end of the fight. Thank goodness this strat is reliable.

Amilmadien

https://www.wowhead.com/pet-ability=2244/leprosy This is why your hare died. I agree, however; this strategy saved me going through every single critter in my collection.

Amilmadien

Your pet died because of this: https://www.wowhead.com/pet-ability=2244/leprosy
I wholeheartedly agree with you though; thank goodness for this strategy!

Innovative strat :) I never used Apocalypse before. I’m sure the poor Leper Rat has already been bored to death when finally put down by the Apocalypse ;-)

Kathleene

wrote on 2018-12-14 01:39:25

This one worked during my first run thru the dungeon. The other two strategies offered for this battle both failed for me as my last pet died just after the Rat did, thereby losing the battle for me. With this strategy, my beetle died just after the Rat, but I still had the Crawdad and the third pet alive. Thanks!!

(OP) Xtoria

Loncis wrote on 2018-12-13 10:11:12

For whatever reason, this strategy did not work. By the time I got the third pet in, Autumnal Sproutling (since both the other two pets had died), it died with the Rat after the immortal round, even though I used Sons of the Root to make Autumnal Sproutling unattackable.

So, what did I use? The ever-reliable cheese combo: B/B Unborn Val'kyr and Ikky. The usual method: Curse of Doom, Haunt, bring in Ikky, Black Claw, Flock. Done. Third pet spared.

(OP) Xtoria

wrote on 2018-12-13 19:11:08

I have only tried this once as i got stuck with no spare pets! but sorry it didn't work for you ! will have to try the cheese combo next time :)
