This strategy of trying to use the same 3-4 pets might be fine for the first run... but really can fall short on the "no-heal" challenge version if you have bad luck.

The Magma Rageling from Ulduar is a lot more easily targetable yourself (and probably going to be a lot cheaper on the AH for a while).
