But even with the 75% chance to miss, it can one-shot pets in round 1. But the fish is quite slow compared to other 8.2 legendary pets so you can easily find ways to avoid it or use Mechs, Undead or Magic pets to survive it. Because I didn't see many options for a pet to soak/avoid a possible one-shot in round 1 and then being really effective for more rounds I decided to use a pet with self-destruct and then defeat this fish with Black Claw + Flock (you can use other pet families with Flock as long as they have 264+ Speed). Not a very smart usage of Blood in the Water X right now, I've never seen the Gnash Bleeding effect going off properly to make it a guaranteed hit. But even with the 75% chance to miss, it can one-shot pets in round 1. But the fish is quite slow compared to other 8.2 legendary pets so you can easily find ways to avoid it or use Mechs, Undead or Magic pets to survive it.

Because I didn't see many options for a pet to soak/avoid a possible one-shot in round 1 and then being really effective for more rounds I decided to use a pet with self-destruct and then defeat this fish with Black Claw + Flock (you can use other pet families with Flock as long as they have 264+ Speed).

Hey mate, really nice strat! And awesome that you called out who inspired you :) DMZ and MPD are such a great combo together.

Can I suggest a slight change; add Thunderbolt to your #2 pet. Click here for the Sim link for it.
Basically you will just use DMZ until its within a Explode, Thunderbolt, Explode Range :)

Forgot to update the steps, but have done now, thank you. Not sure if I should mention the hp checks because in every sim I check it runs the exact same way. I even ran it with 100% crit rate just to check outliers.

Nah no need (as per the Sim). Presuming it's correct, even with a crit Flyby, you wouldn't get into early Explode range so what you've done is perfect :)
