Breed Health Power Speed
HB 1546 273 273

1st pet - the more power, the better. If you don't have Mechanical Axebeak, you could experiment with Stormwing

3rd pet - if you don't have Tranquil Mechanical Yeti, you can take any pet with good mechanical abilities to kill the last pet.

If you don't care about leveling your pet, Mechanical Axebeak might be able to solo the fight if you use Lift-Off and Haywire against last enemy pet.

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 1+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Need to remove the leveling slot and adjust the script. Patch 8.1 nerfed the pet XP to practically nothing.

wrote on 2018-12-16 04:32:19

Sorry, but this strat is terribly written and doesnt follow the standard approach used by everybody else. Its more of "here is a few things you might do". In addition a level 1 leveling pet cannot survive this fight due to the second pet having sticky web.

Eilhan

wrote on 2018-12-27 16:03:59

Why in the world would you let your level pet get hit at all? It should be swapped in, then swapped out immediately, thus getting no chance of being hit with any attack.

The Recount addon tells me I have 36 wins, 0 losses/draws with this strategy, many of them with a level 1 level pet. It works like clockwork with my PP Mechanical Axebeak, but maybe yours is another type?

The World Quest is up now, so I'll try to get another MA and post my findings afterwards.

Eilhan

wrote on 2018-12-27 19:12:55

Couldn't get another type of Mechanical Axebeak, but I've got 46 wins now with PP. I've modified the script, however, to cater for some differences. Try this:

change(#2) [self(#1).dead & !self(#2).played & self(#2).level<25]
change(#3) [self(#1).dead]
standby [self(#1).active & enemy(#3).hp<1099 & self(#2).level<25]
use(Lift-Off:170) [enemy.speed.fast & enemy.ability(Burrow:159).usable]
use(Lift-Off:170) [enemy.aura(Underground:340).exists]
use(Haywire:916) [enemy(#2).active]
use(Alpha Strike:504)
use(Call Lightning:204) [enemy(#3).hp>1098]
use(Ion Cannon:209)

(OP) eFse7en

wrote on 2019-11-11 08:05:50

As Eilhan said, your leveling pet shouldn't be hit at all if you follow the tactic.
As for the strategy, I've mostly focused on writing reliable TD script instead of transposing it to deterministic list of steps which can vary. (edited)

CrystallynRose wrote on 2018-12-05 23:32:21

I couldn't get this to work...the 2nd pet kept webbing my level pet and I couldn't swap it out. Instead I put the level pet in first (none of the first pet's abilities could kill my level pet on the first round) and then swapped it out right away for the Axebeak. I then used the Axebeak until it died (using the listed priorities) and I only had to bring in the Yeti to do one attack.

(OP) eFse7en

wrote on 2019-11-11 07:59:12

When your first pet dies and you swap to your second leveling pet, then you can immediately swap to the third pet in the same round without giving enemy any chance to web your pet, and still get the exp for your leveling pet.
There is no step in the script to use any abilities on the leveling pet.

Eilhan

wrote on 2018-12-27 19:15:33

Try this tdPetBattleScript if you have problems. Only tested with PP Mechanical Axebeak, so please comment with your experiences.

change(#2) [self(#1).dead & !self(#2).played & self(#2).level<25]
change(#3) [self(#1).dead]
standby [self(#1).active & enemy(#3).hp<1099 & self(#2).level<25]
use(Lift-Off:170) [enemy.speed.fast & enemy.ability(Burrow:159).usable]
use(Lift-Off:170) [enemy.aura(Underground:340).exists]
use(Haywire:916) [enemy(#2).active]
use(Alpha Strike:504)
use(Call Lightning:204) [enemy(#3).hp>1098]
use(Ion Cannon:209)

Used decoy instead of lift off. Decoy when first pet is underground. Finish off first two with Axebeak. Jennings comes in,haywire then decoy, bring in level pet, decoy protects level pet swap to yeti, ion cannon and done.

Clockwork Gnome solo'd with 1,1,1. Destroyed first 2 battle pets by keeping Turret up and metal fist, then when the last pet came in which was a heavy hitter, used repair, swapped in leveling pet high enough to take a hit and then finished it off. :)

Sintanan wrote on 2018-11-16 04:20:47

I just used Cerulean Moth with 1, 1, 1 and backed it up with a second moth with 1, 1, 1, and my leveling pet. Moth balls and slicing wind for damage, Cocoon Strike when there's a strong attack like Burrow coming since you outspeed the spiders. Easy peasy.

Here is my ham-fisted modification to use an Exploding pet in the 2nd slot with the leveling pet in the 3rd. Personally I recommend Pet or Blackfuse Bombling though Draenei Micro Defender or most others should also work as well:

Night Horrors:495D:12271BR:11292L:ZL:
change(next) [ self.dead ]
if [ self(#1).active ]
use(#1) [ enemy(#1).active & enemy(#1).ability(#2).usable ]
use(#3) [ enemy.aura(Underground:340).exists ]
use(#2) [ !enemy(#3).active ]
use(#1) [ enemy(#3).hp > 645 ]
use(#1) [ self.speed.slow & enemy(#3).hp > 387 ]
standby
endif
change(2)
if [ self(#2).active ]
use(#3) [ enemy(#3).hp <= 560 ]
use(#1)
endif

Tamasra wrote on 2018-09-07 18:33:29

Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling also works with the Starlette
Decoy - Bombing Run - Flyby till Bombing Run, Continue doing the cycle of Flybys in between Bombing runs and using Decoy as it's up until the MPD dies then swap to the carry, then swap to Starlette and the gratuitous Wind-Up - Supercharge - Windup, with a Powerball if the Dragonling didn't do quite enough damage.

But you don't need to keep passing against last pet. My strategy (and td script) already ensures that you use only abilities when they wouldn't kill last enemy pet even with Axebeak P/P if you crit with both strikes:
use(#1) [ enemy(#3).hp > 645 ]
use(#1) [ self.speed.slow & enemy(#3).hp > 387 ]
standby

Nothing wrong with the strat, but today during the fight Atherton did nothing for a few turns, then Burrowed; Bybee constantly webbed; and Jennings was the only one to actually use it's abilities. Anyone else experience this?

(OP) eFse7en

Yesterday I've had similar situation when first enemy pet was only using Mangle, so most likely enemy abilities are used totally randomly :)

Atherton, Bybee and Jennings are game devs. I think it would be pretty funny if this 'bug' where they pass their turn is an intentional in-joke about Atherton and Bybee being lazy bums and Jennings doing all the work. :D
