High XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 1+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

I always hate hitting pass if I don't need to, so I haven't found a reason to pass on turn 3. I think it's pretty straightforward that way, but I'll take more notes since I'm doing this fight every day:
1. metal fist
2. build turret
3. metal fist
4. metal fist (wolfus dies)
5. turret
6. fist (dodged)
7. fist (clockwork enters mech rebirth)
8. turret
9. fist, clockwork dies
10. zepp enters, casts missile, fangra dies
11. decoy
12. missile
13. missile
14. Wolfgar is at 365, so Explode

Still works in Shadowlands with health to spare though the Clockwork Gnome died two rounds earlier than anticipated. Possibly the result of RNG I had noticed once or twice pre-patch though.

Still works as of pre-patch, just did it.

You can powerlevel 2 lvl +1 pets with the Son of Animus (1 1 1)
I'm french but I will try to explain it in english :

1 : Extra plating
2 : Metal fist
3 : Siphon Anima
4 : Metal fist
5 : Metal fist - Wolfus dies, Fangra join the fight
6 : Metal fist
7 : Extra plating
8 : Pass
9 : Siphon Anima
10 : Metal fist - Fangra dies, Wolfgar join the fight
11 : Swap to your first 1+ pet
12 : Swap back to your Son of Animus
13 : Siphon Anima
14 : Extra plating
15 : Swap to your second 1+ pet
16 : Swap back to your Son of Animus
17 : Siphon Anima
18+19 : Metal fist

Exept bad RNG (ennemy crits), it's easy to win this.
If someone can write and share a tdscirpt of this strat... :)

Moki

wrote on 2018-08-26 07:43:24

THIS worked excellent. The other one with the clockwork gnome did not since gnome died way too early.

Kemp wrote on 2019-07-06 14:01:08

This strategy works but depends a lot on Rng due to Wolfus&Wolfgar having the same speed as Son of Animus. If you still want to lvl 2 pets and dont care start over once or twice this script does Falchor's strategy:

if [enemy(#3).active]
change(#2) [enemy.round=1]
change(#3) [enemy.round=5]
change(#1)
use(Siphon Anima:937)
use(Extra Plating:392) [enemy.hp>500]
use(Metal Fist:384)
endif
standby [enemy.aura(Dodge:311).exists]
use(Extra Plating:392)
use(Siphon Anima:937) [self.hpp<100]
use(Metal Fist:384)

You can add this line at the start of the script if you want to autoquit getting unlucky during the Wolfus fight:

quit [enemy(#2).active & enemy.round = 1 & self(#1).hp<800]

Adraxa wrote on 2018-04-03 14:50:29

Not sure if Blizz changed something, but I used to do this strat all the time but tried it today and my Clockwork Gnome dies WAY too early. : Doesn't even make it to Turn 3.

CheekyMeeshy wrote on 2018-04-24 21:33:53

I had the same issue today - and it happened twice in a row. Had to change the strat a bit the third time but it worked. I dunno, did something change?

Maelchon

wrote on 2018-05-04 06:48:58

Same problem here, my clockwork gnome dies on turn 3. It's not even crits, just white damage hits from Wolfus

Zalid wrote on 2017-07-08 18:18:05

Thanks for all the work on everything on this site. Just wanted to let you know that there is a small error/suggestion for the script. If your Gnome survives to the 3rd pet, like mine just did, then the script fails as there is nothing in the code for this possibility. Not a big issue for those of us used to pet battling, but just something to be aware of. I would add the code but still trying to get my head around it ;-)

Dougula wrote on 2017-07-08 02:16:25

This strat has worked for me quite a few times - great for leveling. However, sometimes the RNG gods are not smiling upon thee. Tonight my Zep killed Wolfgar w/2 big crits before I could use explode. The first was a crit of 813 the 2nd 797 and Wolfgar was done. No XP for level pet. :-( No complaint intended just want to illustrate that sometimes RNG doesn't play out in one's favor. Thanks for all the great info you and your team provide Xu-Fu!

Anonymous wrote on 2017-07-04 13:06:30

something went wrong with the script

Starryice wrote on 2017-07-04 18:30:40

Using this script, you hit forfeit every time. This is a great strat, but you have to do it manually and not with the TD string attached to this fight.

@patf0rd wrote on 2017-07-06 08:08:33

Created a new team using the Rematch string and pasted what went to the clipboard when I clicked the TD Script button. Worked without any problems.

There's no quit command in this script, so no chance to see a Forfeit from tdBPS side, are you using other addons that change your keybindings, adding one for Forfeit maybe and now there's a conflict with your Auto-Button keybind?

Sure you are using the script from the button on this page and not having a different one cause you changed team name or something else from another Rematch team with an existing script? Maybe let us see, what you have in your script editor for this fight?

Hobbyhorse wrote on 2017-06-17 08:17:34

I do not use repair in my battles.

My TD Script:
change(#2) [ self(#1).dead ]
standby [ enemy.aura(Dodge).exists ]
ability(Build Turret) [ enemy(#1).active & enemy.round=1 ]
ability(Build Turret) [ enemy(#2).active & enemy.round=2 ]
ability(Metal Fist)
ability(Decoy) [ enemy(#3).active ]
ability(Explode) [ enemy(#3).hp < 618 ]

If you are trying to level pets Sunreaver Microsentry (1,2,2) and Mechnical Pandaren Dragonling (1,1,1) work really well.

Just do your Supercharge-> Haywire Rotation, using laser as filler. Don't kill Wolfgar with Sunreaver though, you want him to die when Wolfgar is about 1/2 health. Bring in Dragonling, and breathe until pet is about 20-30% health, then explode. Level pet gets all the XP :)

Sent you a mail :-) Of course you have my permission!

Marzen wrote on 2017-02-13 14:09:17

There seems to be some confusion over how much XP the level pet gets if other pets are alive or dead. As I understand it, it makes no difference: a pet will get experience if they participated in at least one round in the fight or if they're the sole survivor of the fight. How much experience is determined by their comparative level to their opponents and the pool of XP that particular fight provides. The only benefit to these suicide (explode) strategies is that you don't need to risk your level pet for even a single round. Your other pets don't "share" the XP and there's no change in the amount of XP your level pet can get if they die.

Aranesh

wrote on 2017-02-19 06:08:20

That's exactly how I understand it as well :-)

Allie wrote on 2017-01-12 17:58:37

My pet did not get any xp :(

Anonymous wrote on 2017-01-17 12:57:11

Then unfortunately you didn't do it right. You will always get the exp for the level pet because no other pets are alive so you don't have to swap it in.

Evil wrote on 2016-11-12 12:39:47

Sunreaver Micro-Sentry x/2/2 Mechanical Axebeak x/2/x and Level 1 pet

Supercharge -> Haywire

Swap to Leveling Pet

Swap back to Sunreaver Micro-Sentry

Supercharge -> Haywire

Bring Mechanical Axebeak -> Haywire

GG.

PS: Reason why this strategy is even better, is that those wolves are Superfast, BUT Mechanical Axebeak as a Flying pet is faster ^^

So instead of using ability number 1 twice as Sunreaver Micro-Sentry (and there is possibility, that he will just die)

You can bring this awesome bird and Melt last Wolf with Haywire before he can even see what happened.

Gráinne

wrote on 2016-11-12 20:53:09

I just tried it once, and wasn't watching the numbers, but this does seem to be an amazingly fast and effective strat, if you have the pets!

Aranesh

Evil wrote on 2016-11-12 12:34:51

ALTERNATIVE 3 option is "the best strategy for this fight" and one of the best leveling pet strategies ever!

BUT...

I wouldnt be myself, if i didnt try to make it even more overpowered :D

ENHANCED STRATEGY IN THE POST ABOVE! :P

Drakuul wrote on 2016-11-07 14:21:35

In stead of blowing up just do 112 for the zep bring in your leveling pet to eat the howl then briung in the zepplin and decoy. And the bomb hits him right then and he dies./

Nika wrote on 2015-09-23 04:32:19

He wont get exp, if you don't switch Zeppelin <- -> Level 1+ Pet just when Fangra comes in.

Aranesh

wrote on 2015-09-24 05:22:34

Hey!
The beauty of this strategy is that you use Explode with the Darkmoon Zeppelin. That kills the Zep as well, and your level pet will end up with the full amount of XP because it is the sole survivor. Give it as try, I promise it works :-)

BaaRamEwe wrote on 2016-11-05 09:58:36

Might want to put a note at end of strategy that you HAVE to use explode. I used a missile since I knew it would kill last wolf and didn't get the XP. I didn't check comments first.

Saintgabrial wrote on 2016-10-30 14:56:18

I've been leveling a level one pet with each Draenor tamer and each pet leveled from level 1 to level 11. I did this strategy here for Gargra and it also leveled from level 1 to level 11. So it didn't seem to gain any more EXP with the other two pets dead.

Gráinne

wrote on 2016-10-30 16:06:50

Level 25 pets can't gain any XP, so if you're levelling your carry using two 25s, the 25s get zero experience whether they're alive or dead, which means that the carry pet gets all the XP whether the level 25s are alive or dead.

Not so Gráinne, did this today and Zepplin (25) killed last pet with Missile so remained alive. Carry pet got NO experience. Worked fine previously where I had to use Explode. Seems carry pet will only get xp if both 25s are dead unless you get him in for 1 round

Ah, but in that case, where the Zepp stayed alive, the carry pet never finished a round in the battle, so was not eligible for XP.
