Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!

Boss can't take more than 35% in one hit? I think this has been patched?

Have you tried it before making this comment? Sunlight increase pets health by 50%, meaning they can effectively take 52.5% of their HP

Tried twice, failed twice. Enok had 61 HP after the 2nd explode both times.

Which pets did you use? and which breeds? I think this is a case of Substitutes.

I see a HP restriction > 1601 on the second pet, but no others.

Enok has 1958 HP.

In Sunlight, Crimson's Explode does 1028 damage, and Brilliant does 840. That's 1868. So Illuminate has to do at least 90. Any level 25 pet with Illuminate will do lots more than that. So the combination of Crimson Spore and Brilliant Spore in slots 2 and 3 will always work perfectly.

But substitutes ...

Enok's speed is 333.

If I take the lowest substitutes I have, Flawless Baubleworm, S/S Scrapyard Tunneler, Rebuilt Mech Spider. I fail badly, falling short 386 before Enok heals on Round 4. But in doing that, I have violated the constraint on the second pet's health.

So now with Flawless Baubleworm, Crimson Spore, Rebuilt Mech Spider, I fall short by 2. 2 is kind of heartbreaking here :)

If I use a third pet whose effective speed is less than 333, Enok heals before the second Explode.

This is just a really hard thing to so when allowing substitutes. You would have to put in a set of rules about the combined health of the 2nd and 3rd pets, plus a restriction on the speed of the third (which will be different if it has the Flying racial).

Each pet only has 1 specific breed. Enchanted Lantern can only be B/B, Crimson Spore can only be H/H, and Brilliant Spore can only be P/S. Turned out to be a quality issue - the Crimson Spore has to be Rare. Uncommon maxes at 1600, Rare bumps up to 1725. Uncommon Brilliant Spore is fine.

Each of the three primarily listed species has only a single breed. That is right.

But if you look toward the bottom of the square for each pet, you see the Substitutes line. If you use the arrows there, you can scroll through possible Substitutes you can try.

Very often, people fail when using some of the possible substitutes, and it's possible to tweak the strat by adding Health or Power or Speed constraints. I assumed that was the problem.

I'm glad you found and resolved your issue!

Gráinne hit the nail on the head here, Thank you :-) edit: with both comments,

I calculated (obviously can make mistakes but was a big enough buffer) based on the lowest illumination magic user (didn't calculate for alternative of other types) but my thoughts were with Crimson being specified it should be fine though sunlight sadly didn't work.

Now refering to your comment All strats on here are based on rare pets so unless specified just presume they need to be rare. (edited)

I actually forgot - I have Beta features turned on, and there is a thing in Beta that allows the showing of pets of families other than the reference one. That may have caused some confusion. Maybe that should get some attention before it goes live.

With Beta features turned off, I see only species that will reliably work 100%

Yeah so I had beta features on too but turned it off because I found it a bit unreliable while making some strats. So was going to wait to see what it was like finished. Maybe adding a breed limit box or something.
