Only tested with P/B Iron Starlette and P/B Nether Faerie Dragon. Let me know if it works with other breeds.
Some chance of RNG if the Iron Starlette doesn't get off the second Wind-Up (On 3 tests, Iron Starlette always got off the second Wind-Up). This likely wouldn't be an issue with a faster Iron Starlette. |

There's a small chance that Burrow does low damage (488-490 of its 488-732 damage range) so Tika's Beast passive won't be active to kill Slugger with Face Bite in Round 4.
Runehoof's ability usage seems to be random, but Headbutt's Stun & Horn Attack's Interrupt trigger Resilient so it's very unlikely that Dibbler will suffer both of them and won't get Explode off. (10-12 rounds) |

This pet battle was a bit too easy almost. Parasitic boarfly is the mvp, and will be able too deal with Slugger and a chunk of Runehoof. Ashwing is also quicker then runehoof so you can finish him up to set up a clean victory against Moth balls RNG.

The Sea Gull uses unattackable against Slugger's unattackable. Cerulean Moth and Nether Faerie Dragon are strong against 2nd and 3rd fighters. Note continue to check flying pets' speed advantage and don't use Counterspell once it goes away. I have found this team to work at least 4 out of 5 times.

The Nexus Whelpling choice on this fight is also a bit busted should any crits come into your pet, one crit (or even a bad burrow) from Slugger is a dead run. Switching out the Whelpling entirely for a Lifelike Mechanical Frostboar (in my case, H/H 1,2,2) fixed issues with the first fight entirely for me, but the second fight is still broken when relying on Supercharge to not be interrupted by one of the two stunning abilities Runehoof has, and honestly, the best bet there is to play with timing and brute force that fight to get through that awful pet.
The last of the fights, with Duster, is also just a hair broken, but that only seems to be because of a bug with the Howl ability, where it just falls off of Duster without it even being hit. If that happens and you're not killed by moth ball rng being awful, you can also still brute force the fight with Chrominus if it has Arcane Explosion in the first slot to whittle Duster down to <1100 for Surge of Power to work.
All in all, this fight is maybe one of the worst balanced pet battle bosses that I can think of outside of maybe one or two Nazjatar fights or maybe some Argus fights, specfically because of the RNG that can absolutely break runs, regardless of the team you set up. (edited)

1. Stuns have no impact on your team because of Arcane Storm
2. The reason why I choose Nexus Whelpling is Arcane Storm --> 1.
3. the combo Howl + Surge of Power kills Duster (you don't have to use Arcane Explosion (why?))
4. I don't think this fight is tricky or bad balanced. We have ~1400 pets in this game. There is always a way to counter a tamer. But yes ... if you want to play always Ikky with black claw + flock ... then it's tricky.
One exception: Faryl --> familyfight aquatic

Strategy tested and it works about 75% of the time, if not a bit more, the only weak link for me is Nexus Whelpling which sadly, is necessary to this strategy, like you mentioned. Like I said in the last comment, I found some other replacements to work in place, but if Nexus Whelpling takes a crit, it seems to be the make or break. The rest is just commentary on the opponents, not the strategy, which probably wasn't clear enough.
1. Arcane Storm is absolutely useful and integral to mitigating much of the trouble with Runehoof in this strategy, but it just makes the weakest link whatever pet uses Arcane Storm.
2. Nexus Whelping is great for this strategy, but for anyone who tries to play with this strategy after getting one too many Whelpling early deaths, I mentioned those alternatives (like the Frostboar) which come with their own downfalls, like with Runehoof RNG
3. Howl and Surge of Power works, but like I mentioned there does seem to be a rare enough bug where Howl just falls off the enemy pet without it taking damage, which means an Arcane Explosion is necessary. This isn't a dig at your strategy (which is a good one, all in all), but it does seem to be possible.
4. I just think the fight is balanced poorly because it forces a very small selection of battle pets to be used, and even with a good cocktail put together, like this strategy, it still isn't a done deal. Skill or foresight/planning undone by RNG always rubs me the wrong way.
This strategy is good, and like the others say, I think it's better than the top billed strategy on here, but it can still break, and I think it's the battle's fault, not yours.

If it failed for you, please specify exactly how it failed, ideally with a combat log. For example. I have never seen Howl "just fall off" the enemy, and I'm not aware of any such bug ever having existed. You can get a Combat Log from your chat box or from the addon PetBattleLogKeeper, which does still work. Get the GitHub version for the latest.
Yes, the Nexus Whelpling can die. A high hit from Burrow won't do that alone, though; it needs at least one crit. (What chance? somewhere around 7%? Certainly less than 25%) However, even if it does die too soon, the Runeforged Servitor should be able to clean up, as specified above.

Don't swap to Chrominius after Runehoof dies.

Bring in your Chrominius
--> Howl (only if moth hp>1110)

By ZeeAUS (17,081 – 10·39·134) on 2020/11/27 (Patch 9.0.2)
This fight is quite RNG, as Runehoof seems to change the timing on the stun move. However this combo worked for me most times.
Kun Lai Runt (mine is P/S) 1,1,1
Iron Starlette (mine is P/S) 1,1,1
Nexus Whelpling (mine is (P/P) x,2,2
Start with Kun Lai Runt
(1) Thrash
(2) Pass
(3) Rampage
Slugger Dies
(4) Change to Iron Starlette for first hit
(5) Change to Kun Lai Runt to eat the stun. Kun Lai Runt dies. Bring in Iron Starlette.
(6) Wind-Up (If you get stunned, that is Runehoof RNG, and you'll need to restart).
(7) Supercharge
(8) Wind-Up
Runehoof dies
(9) Powerball until Iron Starlette dies. Bring in Nexus Whelping
(10) Arcane Storm
(11) Mana Surge for the win!
