The level pet slot is generally interchangeable with the Elekk plushie for the achievement.

Because all tamers in areas prior to Pandaria don't have their own sections in the menu, people put their strats for them here in the Awfully Big Adventure Section.

Please check the spelling VAN should be CAN - and ABILETIES should be ABILITIES. In the script itself - BRETH should be BREATH, and SHILD should be SHIELD. Thanks, my OCD kicked in big time! ;) (edited)

I do a variation on this where I throw up Decoy during the fight with Arcanus, swap a Level 1 trainee in there, and then proceed pretty much the same way.

I also throw in the MPD's Thunderbolt when I can.

(With the addition of the Safari Hat, I got a Shadowlands Undead almost to level 9 this way.) (edited)
