What do you mean by "pets just don't last"? Two player pets are supposed to die (Armageddon, Explode), so a bit more information would be helpful, especially because this is one of the safer Zaralek Cavern strategies due to Failsafe being there for all our mechanical pets. (edited)

Used a P/S Iron Starlette 1/1/2 instead of the Pocket Cannon - just did Wind-Up > Wind-Up > Powerball > Explode to kill off Clawz.
