Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

A slightly modified suggestion of Hairyscary.

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

The third pet also needs to be faster than Bloat to get the last shot in before Bloat use Cannon.

Doryanne wrote on 2019-02-19 14:04:14

Tried several times but I had to modify to not used scorched earth (breath instead) and an extra claw. Otherwise my 3rd pet was taking the Cannon and dying.

Same. How is that not put into the strat? As written, it doesn't work.

perfect amendment, should be changed above

After doing the original strategy like 4 times and failing; I tried Doryannes and got it first try!

Yep. Same result here. Scorched Earth was killing my own pets a turn too early. Used this revision and worked like a charm.

Turn 1-2: Lift-Off
Turn 3+: Breath until Wild Crimson Hatchling dies
Bring in your Emmigosa
Turn 1: Claw
Turn 2: Claw
Turn 3+: Surge of Power – your Emmigosa dies
Bring in your Spawn of Onyxia
Turn 1+: Tail Sweep until Bloat dies

Xar wrote on 2020-01-27 21:48:47

This worked while the listed strat did not. Thanks!

3 Saurolisk Hatchlings make this pretty faceroll. First one use Feign Death, then use Rampage with the other 2 then rush for the first one when it swaps back in.

Troy wrote on 2018-04-25 16:22:36

consistently had him at ~50 Hp on the last strike before the cannon came back.
My 244 onxyian was too slow to get an action in before it died, i swaped to a phoenix hawk with speed enough to ninja in there and it died easily.
Had a few crit diseased bites cost me a bandage too. various bullpoop RNG got me right in a mess before i cleared this.

Kateuk

wrote on 2019-01-17 16:45:32

I had lift off on Onyxian, realised it was slow so turn 1 of Onyxian was lift off, turn 2 tail sweep, Bloat died.

Nellq wrote on 2019-01-01 04:39:46

I ended up using Sprite Darter Hatchling's Evanescence for the first pet because I didn't have anything fast enough with Lift-Off.

BRPedersen wrote on 2018-12-28 18:44:24

Changed this up a bit, as I didn't have 3 dragons faster than Bloat.

Used a Twilight Clutch-Sister (1, 2, 2) instead of Spawn of Onyxia.

Started the fight with Wild Crimson Hatchling using Lift Off, followed up with Scorched Earth.
Swapped to the Clutch-Sister and used Twilight Meteorite, next turn the Clutch-Sister died.
Brought in Emmigosa and used Claw twice followed by by Surge of Power.
Bloat used it's cannon right after the Surge of Power, but at this point it had >200 hp left, making it easy to finish the fight with the Wild Crimson Hatchling.

eckokitten wrote on 2018-10-04 13:57:35

This doesn't work at all. I tried several different first pets but Bloat always got to go first and one shot me before I could lift off.
It doesn't say they need higher speed for the first pet.

got in two claws. maybe i had good luck, didn't retest.

Erô wrote on 2018-01-20 02:45:11

Was getting a lot of bad luck with my P/S Spawn of Onyxia with this, and it would always get one shot, so I changed it to an S/S Albino Chimaeraling (2-1-1), and it would perfectly with life-off to counter Antaen Cannon

wrendarla

wrote on 2018-04-08 20:07:24

Also worked wirh an S/S Phoenix Hawk Hatchling as the third pet, just needed to lift off and won

Midiosa wrote on 2017-12-17 14:16:21

This works very well first try. Didn't even have to use Spawn of Onyxia, even when Bloat crit me twice.
