Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

*** 9.0.2 approved ***

One of those early strategies I was assigned as creator for and no one knows why (not even have it as an alternative team in my Rematch) but will take it.

Looks like it was badly missing a speed requirement for the Sproutling, so I added that.

Low XP
Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

Any, Ominous Flame (2,2,2), Corehound Pup (2,1,2)

1. Pass - pet dies
2. Summon Ominous - Scorched Earth
3. Forboding Curse
4. Spitfire Bolt
5. Spitfire Bolt
6. Forboding Curse
7. Any - Ominous dies
8. Summon Pup - Thrash
9. Burrow

11. Thrash if necessary

5 out of 5, cheers

Worked well as the strat using Forest Sproutling didn't work for me

Blu wrote on 2017-09-29 04:06:40

This strat works great with a S/S Molten Corgi in the first slot, Flamethrower (or any attack but Puppies of the Flame) doesn't waste that first round as a pass.

ElfElf wrote on 2017-10-20 22:30:20

I loved this one! I put a Cinder Kitten in slot 1 and used Scorched earth a round early. This let me add a third Spitfire Bolt from Ominous. Fight was won at Burrow.

Elemental Team:
Amethyst Shale Hatchling (S/S) - x, 2, x
Cinder Kitten (B/B) - 2, x, 2
Electricified Razortooth (B/B) - 1, 2, x

This fight is RNG dependednt. You can win without S/S breed Amethyst Shale Hatchling but probability will be lower, so be prepared for several attempts. With S/S breed Amethyst Shale Hatchling I was able to win almost all the times (9 wins from 10 battles). Sometimes I even didn't need Electricified Razortooth. Sometimes I needed both attacks from Electricified Razortooth. Very RNG dependednt. But as I said with S/S Amethyst Shale Hatchling I was able to win almost every time.

Amethyst Shale Hatchling:
1 - Poison Spit, Amethyst Shale Hatchling dies

Cinder Kitten:
1 - Scorched Earth
2+ - Rend until Cinder Kitten dies

Electricified Razortooth:
1 - Rip
2 - Blood in the Water

Amurfalcon wrote on 2017-09-19 10:57:08

Don't have a core hound pup (to be rectified tonight) so the following worked:

Molten Corgi S/S (1/1/1):
Puppies, superbark, bark until dead

PWS H/S (1/2/1):
Whirlpool on cooldown, dive to avoid cannon, water jet as filler

Electrified Razortooth B/B (1/2/1)
Rip, blood in the water, devour to kill Bloat

Zanitta wrote on 2017-10-30 17:39:43

Unfortunately, after so many restarts the Corgi would live past the 1st round....

Eekwibble wrote on 2017-09-15 09:52:32

Molten Corgi 1-1-1
Stout Alemental 2-/-1
Any Elemental pet

Turns 1-3. Puppies of the Flame
4-6. Bark
7. Superbark
Corgi dies
Bring in Alemental
1. Bubble
2+. Barrel toss until Bloat or Alemental dies
If Bloat is still alive; bring in 3rd pet to finish (can be very low lvl if you want, Bloat will have ~10hp)

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-17 14:54:54

this strategy worked perfectly
Stout Alemental is 2-x-2 (Bubble is 2)
good luck

Mags wrote on 2017-10-30 01:05:02

Nice strat! Thanks!

Terry wrote on 2017-08-31 14:34:24

Slightly RNG, but worked 4/5 times for me: Any sacrificial pet (I used Phoenix Hatchlihg for that one minor tag of extra damage at the start) Electrified Razortooth (1 2 1), Core Hound Pup (1 1 2).

1: Peck, hatchling dies.
2: Bring in Razortooth, Rip
3: Blood in the Water
4, 5: Devour
6: Razortooth dies
7: Thrash
8, 9: Burrow
10: Finish with Thrash, repeat if required.

Inovan wrote on 2017-09-01 19:04:59

This worked for me, but for the record, Thrash is ability #2, not #1. Your instructions should read Core Hound Pup (2 1 2).

Vibah wrote on 2017-09-02 01:38:17

This worked for me, took 2 tries but seemed ok. The issue is Crits on your Core Hound, and hoping thrash gets 2 hits on the last 2 goes after the Boom thingy goes off

Shashos wrote on 2017-09-04 17:54:40

This one finally won it for me. I just don't have the right breed of pets for the others, unfortunately.

Ottoitoto wrote on 2017-09-09 17:26:46

I tweaked this a little to give it extra damage. I used an Amethyst Shale Hatchling S/S with Poison Spit instead of Phoenix Hatchling, and since I don't have Electrified Razortooth, I used Cinder Kitten (2 2 2) instead. This worked wonderfully, thank you!

Aeliel wrote on 2017-09-16 06:30:14

My Razortooth is only a white B/B lvl24 (yeah, I know) so I had to tweak it slightly to get this to work and pray to RNGesus.

First pet was a S/S Jademist Dancer dropping Geyser before dying for the extra damage hit. And then I had to redo a few times because Thrash only ever hit once, so I didn't have enough damage.

But it worked! So thanks :D

Xna - Doomhammer wrote on 2017-09-16 06:45:15

Nice strat but I started with Moltern Corgi (superbark - gives nice damage).
Then razortooth as above. But I finished with Ruby Droplet (111). Bubble, plagued blood, then acid touch. Bloat has 3 dots on him by this time and dies quick. Ruby ended with 85%hp.

solitha wrote on 2017-08-30 00:22:16

I had neither the first nor third pets. I tried Molten Corgi 1-1-1 (use Puppies of the Flame to avoid the first Cannon) and added the Cinder Kitten 2-2-1 at the end. I was able to muddle through, even though I did steps wrong and my Core Hound Pup died far too fast. Puppies of the Flame will -not- be off cooldown for another Cannon, so bear in mind a pet will have to die soaking that second Cannon.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-08-30 15:44:55

Confirmed.
This works, just replace Forest Sproutling with Molten Corgi if you don't have a Sprout s/s breed.
1. Puppies of the Flame
2. Super Bark
3. Bark until it dies
After that just continue with the strat as normal (keeping in mind that the turns might be off due to RNG for the Antaen Cannon)

Rayze wrote on 2017-08-30 21:38:13

I didn't have a max Cinder Kitten or Skunky Alemental so I used Electrified Razortooth instead and Devour managed to kill Bloat off.

Jagûar

wrote on 2017-09-07 17:47:57

Thank you for thinking of Molten Corgi.
Corgi: Puppies, Superbark, then Bark til dead.
Core Hound: Scratch, Burrow, Howl, Scratch
Bloat dead

Change in first slot pet added to alternatives

Eekwibble wrote on 2017-09-15 09:41:02

Use Bark until nearly dead (should be 3 rounds of Bark) then Superbark. Bark debuffs attacks by 25% and will extend Corgi's life by an extra round. You won't be using Superbark twice so using it last isn't a problem.

maladroa-greymane wrote on 2017-09-08 03:51:17

used pebble skunky alemental stout alemental
pebble : sandstorm, switch
skunky: inebrate, barrel toss till skunky dies
pebble: sandstorm or to take the death
stout: barrel toss x2 then dive

Jess wrote on 2017-09-01 14:59:21

I used Gooey Sha'ling to cast Call Darkness to interfere with healing. Then Core Hound Pup - howl, thrash, thrash, burrow. Brought in the Molten Corgi to finish using Puppies of Flame and then Superbark. It worked even though I never got a critical hit in.

Lorienne wrote on 2017-09-01 23:22:54

This worked wonderfully. Only difference was that I needed a final Bark from the Corgi because Bloat still had 1 hit point after Superbark. :) Thanks!

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-03 16:27:01

Gooey Sha'ling worked great for first pet. Call Darkness-> D&D-> Seethe till he dies. Then go back to the strat up top. The trick is to time the burrow right with core hound.

Shashos wrote on 2017-09-04 17:47:18

This strat works fine unless the Antean Cannon still hits through the Blind. I've used so many bandages restarting after Gooey got obliterated. Very RNG on this front.

Arji wrote on 2017-09-07 18:07:45

Does not work with a H/H Sha-ling. it dies before it even does something

Xhanon wrote on 2017-09-03 10:59:19

Skunky Alemental RNG Build.
I used skunky Alemental(2.1.1) , First pet dies ofcourse, doesnt matter.
Skunky Alemental, used Inabriate, dodged 3 abilities in a row and kept spamming 1 untill he died, finished off with core hound pup Trash, nothing special.

Rifkin wrote on 2017-09-04 22:38:41

RNG but definitely worth a go, had a few practice ones that were only just failing, then got into the rhythm and rng was heavily on my side, to the point i almost didn't need the pup

PROFESSORLABCOAT wrote on 2017-08-31 21:11:14

I've found that Stout Alemental (2/2/2) is very good against this boss, and can pretty easily 2-pet this fight without requiring a pet to outspeed him on the first turn. The key is weakening Bloat to <1396 HP with your other pets and then setting up Bubble with the Stout Alemental when there's 1 turn left of Antaen Cannon's cooldown. This lets your Bubble block both the Antaen Cannon as well as the next Plagued Blood, giving you 2 free hits of Barrel Toss for 609 damage each to win the fight. If Bloat is above 1218 HP, you'll need to set up Explosive Brew after using Bubble to provide the extra bit of damage, and you'll have to survive another hit of Diseased Bite.

I used a sacrificial elemental pet in slot 1, and in slot 2 I've successfully used around 8 or 9 different pets to weaken him, although I think Electrified Razortooth (1/2/1), Core Hound Pup (2/1/2) and Pandaren Water Spirit (1/2/1) are a few pets that a lot of battlers already have. What's important is that the pet can weaken Bloat to 1396 HP or less and/or has a move to dodge Plagued Blood (this really helps with the weakening), and is able to die in 3 or less hits of Diseased Bite. I even used a poor quality P/P level 23 Stormstruck Beaver and the fight is still very winnable as long as you don't get crit by either of the 2 Diseased Bite hits.

Saryas wrote on 2017-09-03 10:38:44

Worked beautifully <3. I used a molten corgi in 1st slot (was faster so i squeezed a superbark in there :P) then used Core Hound pup: Howl>Burrow (to dodge the plague blood) followed by Trash till the hound died. When the Alementals turn came there was 1 turn left for the cannon so i used bubble followed by barrel toss :) Boss dead :)

Absolutely perfect strategy.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-03 19:54:50

I didn't have a Forest Sprout at S/S but I did have a Bound Stream (one of the new Cuteaclysm drops) that had Dive, that worked well enough. Anything fast enough with some kind of avoiding ability, dive/ burrow/dodge etc. would work.

Lylian wrote on 2017-08-29 17:25:04

Couldn't get refuge off first, Forest Sproutling too slow.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-08-29 17:56:16

This strat requires a S/S Sprout. Not sure how to do this without it. I have been trying various strategies and no luck yet.

Drizz wrote on 2017-09-03 16:31:25

Watcher has speed value of 413... Unless it's an ability that goes first by default, then Watcher will always nuke your 1st pet.

Naveen wrote on 2017-08-29 21:21:22

I used Nightshade Sproutling (s/s), Nightsaber Cub and Core Hound Pup.

Nightsaber cub is a beast. This is for the all elemental achievement.
