Because a lot of people don't have FREAKIN XU-FU! I took the liberty to post francee25's strat from WoWhead. You can buy all pets on the AH, maybe even get lucky to buy a pre-leveled 25!

Don't tell me this strategy doesn't work. It's highly RNG, so it's in good company with all the others. It is very similar to others here because the pool of beasts that do Magic attacks is very small. Good luck!

The RNG of Star Tail's Mottenstaub makes this fight frustrating. If turn one sleeps you, simply restart the fight and trying again. I had trouble using other strats with Katzenfamiliar in Slot 3 and mine getting consistently one-shot by Brite, so this strategy moves Xu-Fu, Nachwuchs von Xuen {with a higher health pool} into the last slot allowing him to better survive the RNG. Provided you don't get slept in turn 1, I've been able to repeat kill with this strat a few times.

Vert RNG fight.
Restart the fight if: Moth dust put your pet asleep, enemy pets critical hits often. I haven't tried Purrkin's other breed because I don't have them. Please let me and other players know if it works or not by commenting below. Try avoinding Toxic Fumes and Rain dance buffed Savage Talon with Ethereal, you should be able to win. |

So, from what i can tell this is pretty much just an race against RNG, but after like 10 tries this worked. Im not sure about the Breed on the Zandalari, mine was PP.

Thanks for this strat. I had a couple of sleeps in round one, and two more tries with unfortunate crits to the first two pets before they could do their final attack, and another time where the first pet of his did not die from the moonfire (booooooooo), but the 6th time, this went off perfectly.

1)No sleep 1st round
2)moth dust + moth balls need to get Xu-Fu to between 699 and 515ish hp to 1 shot him with moonfire (beast dmg bonus) and live through Toxic Strike of Needlenose
3)Spirit Claws needs to hit (since moonlight isn't in effect)
4)Darkness has a 10% miss chance that happens 60% of the time when you really need something to hit
5)Cyclones 35% chance to deal damage happening 75% of the time
6)Rain Dance giving a 50% increased crit chance (evidently there is a 35% base crit chance for Brite)
7)Brite's damage range is not nearly as low as the tooltip seems to indicate
Of course it may be just my bad luck, but 7 fails in and 3 times losing because Darkness causing my killing blow to miss has me a little jilted.

Following that, it took several more attempts to get it right, none of which had Xu-Fu's Moonfire actually OHKO the first pet. Luckily, I got two hits in with Spirit Claws (one on Pet #1, the second on Needlenose) to make up for it. By the time I got to Brite again, my feline familiar got a single good hit in (prowl + onyx bite, as detailed by the guide) and my larva was able to come in with Consume to finish the job.

I don't have the Piglet either, I used Renny instead with Prowl+Blinkstrike (needed the Blinkstrike twice because his pet survived bareley)
So it did work in the end :)
