i had the same issue with "Moonfire" not killing Star Tail; you also need to have "Moth Balls" miss more than it hits; any crits on ANY of the enemy hits throughout the strat have a REALLY high chance of breaking it, too.

This ended up being my 9th beasts, when both Eyegore and Dundley were not doable regardless of strat, for me. I managed human, dragon, undead and critter on Faryl, but gave up trying to beat him after flying was so RNG I didn't get flying down after a half hour of trying.

Thanks for this strat. I had a couple of sleeps in round one, and two more tries with unfortunate crits to the first two pets before they could do their final attack, and another time where the first pet of his did not die from the moonfire (booooooooo), but the 6th time, this went off perfectly.

Took me two tries. Skipped call darkness the second time because first time it made me miss three consecutive onyx bites. Instead I went with Onyx Bite, Prowl, Onyx Bite for the second pet and then onyx bite till my familiar died and finished with the arcane dash.

This combo is crazy RNG dependant...
1)No sleep 1st round
2)moth dust + moth balls need to get Xu-Fu to between 699 and 515ish hp to 1 shot him with moonfire (beast dmg bonus) and live through Toxic Strike of Needlenose
3)Spirit Claws needs to hit (since moonlight isn't in effect)
4)Darkness has a 10% miss chance that happens 60% of the time when you really need something to hit
5)Cyclones 35% chance to deal damage happening 75% of the time
6)Rain Dance giving a 50% increased crit chance (evidently there is a 35% base crit chance for Brite)
7)Brite's damage range is not nearly as low as the tooltip seems to indicate

Of course it may be just my bad luck, but 7 fails in and 3 times losing because Darkness causing my killing blow to miss has me a little jilted.

I used Terror Larva instead of the 3rd pet, used Worst Fear and then Consume and it worked! It had enough health to survive. Thanks for this strat!

I did the same thing, but my first attempt (where Xu-fu didn't get put to sleep turn 1) had Worst Fear miss against Brite, then my larva got crit by the cyclone and went down literally at the last second, causing a tie that defaults to the AI's win.

Following that, it took several more attempts to get it right, none of which had Xu-Fu's Moonfire actually OHKO the first pet. Luckily, I got two hits in with Spirit Claws (one on Pet #1, the second on Needlenose) to make up for it. By the time I got to Brite again, my feline familiar got a single good hit in (prowl + onyx bite, as detailed by the guide) and my larva was able to come in with Consume to finish the job.

Well, tried this strat 10 times today. 60% of the time the moth put my pet asleep...The complain here is more on the blizzard statement that it happens 25% of the time...perhaps need a bigger sample size

I don't have a Xu-Fu, so I had to be creative. I put Feline Familiar in slot 1 and used Renny in slot 2. Prowl, then Onyx Bite killed the moth. Then Call Darkness and Onyx Bite, then Feline Familiar was dead. Brought in Renny. Prowl, Uncanny Luck, then Blinkstrike until Renny was dead. Arcane Dash finished off Brite. Obviously, you need to be seriously lucky for this to work, but a win is a win.

Won first try (using Yolo's script), my Xu-Fu didn't have time to hit with his moon claws but it still worked out despite 2 crits from Brite

My Feline Familar crit 3000 with Prowl + Onyx Bite and finished off the final pet, didn't even need the last pet, but I got damned lucky!

I didn't have the piglet, but Moon Moon worked pretty well in third slot. I had terrible RNG and lost the Onyx cat same time as second pet. But Howl +one or two moon fangs should be enough.

Haven't leveled my pig yet so used Cinder Pup and his Flame Breath ability. First attempt he killed third opponent but then it's whirlwind killed him. 2nd attempt worked well.

I didn't get any Sprit Claws off on his 2nd Pet and Feline Familiar was too low for Prowl+Onyx Bite, therefore his 3rd Pet had quite some HP left
I don't have the Piglet either, I used Renny instead with Prowl+Blinkstrike (needed the Blinkstrike twice because his pet survived bareley)
So it did work in the end :)

Worked great, Toxic Flames in Turn three crit and killed my Xu-Fu before I could land spirit clasws but didn't need it anyway.

I had trouble using other strats with Feline Familiar in Slot 3 and mine getting consistently one-shot by Brite, so this strategy moves Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen {with a higher health pool} into the last slot allowing him to better survive the RNG.
