In SL Prepatch, not sure if I got unlucky, but I really needed my 3rd pet to kill him. 250 health left after the steps in the strat.

I've put Dread Hatchling on first spot, Call Darkness and then Nocturnal strike, filled with Peck. Hatchling demolished him. Other pets were as above, but only needed flock once.
