My third pet was needed to finish the fight, I had another Dragonling so I used Decoy again which took care of lift of and then a single breath finish it off. Thanks for the strat!

Be careful that your third slot is a mechanical pet! Since the rematch string calls any pet, it might not get you Family Battler!
