All credit to "Gnome Aldin" on Wowhead for this incredible strat.

It's very simple: Get a Stampede pet that is faster than the boss and then a second pet with Lightning Shield, that has lower health than the third pet, so it gets swapped in when the boss does his first attack.

Low XP
Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

Worked first time with Tolai Hare Pup H/S Stormstruck Beaver Lvl 23 B/B and a Storm-Touched Stomper Lvl 23 P/P as back up

Used Spawn of G'nathus as 2nd pet and Electrified Razortooth as 3rd. Strat worked beautifully where the others have failed. After the boss ressed himself I used Thunderbolt as a filler and the fight never even got to my 3rd pet.

I think for this to work you need a P/P breed on the 2nd pet or one that is faster than 294.
Edit: Otherwise you will need to do some attacks turn 3 & 4 (edited)

This strat is my favorite all-time strat.
Rabbit (B/B)
Stormstruck Beaver (P/P)
Zangar Crawler (H/H)
Loved the strat, if I could thumbs-up this strat multiple times I would.

Loved this strat previously, favorite fight. Failed twice today, both times beavers died fast. Worked for my spouse, so not exactly sure what went wrong. Combat log just mentions crits on the beavers, nothing that stands out otherwise. Should probably start out with two LS pets in slot 2 and 3, instead of trying after a fail with remaining. Didn't think of it in the moment. Went with the Yu'la strat, which worked.

It did not work for me, as of 9.0.1.
I used Stormwrath, but the Lightning Shield is gone when the boss revive with full health. And I could not repeat the strategy since Stormwrath die before it can Lightning Shield again.

So I tried it with the lowest-power pets I had that satisfied the criteria of Critter with Stampede and Speed > 294 (Redridge Rat H/S) and Elemental with Lightning Shield (Thundertail Flapper H/B) and it worked fine, with plenty of health to spare - Rat still at 86% and Flapper still at 64%, so I could probably have gone again without healing- and no need for my third pet at all.

I logged the battle with PBLK

Your Stormwrath has more power than my Flapper, and while it does have more health, I never lost anything like the amount of health Stormwrath has, so I can't account for the difference except for two possibilities:

1. Your Stampede Critter was too slow or
2. I kept attacking while the boss was punching himself out. I used Thunderbolt and Jolt - just automatically, without thinking. If you weren't attacking, but just passing, or not using Elemental attacks, that could make a difference.

Thanks for the detailed comment !

Now I understand what happened. After putting the shield I used Slicing Wind, which randomly hit the enemy 1, 2, or 3 times. I was just unlucky on my three attempt, because if it hit only 1 time, the boss don't die but instead kill itself with the shield, trigger its passive, and revive with full health.

So I tried another time, and I killed it with two hits of Slicing Wind. If others players use Stormwrath too, it's probably better to finish it with Call Lightning instead.

Worked for me with Servant of Demidos. I used Siphon anima after the initial mech passive respawn, which meant Lightning Shield and vulnerable debuff were still up for the full hp revive.

It now comes back to full health for a third life. This strat. does not work anymore.
I used Ikky for Black claw, Beaver for Lightning shield, then when possible brought Ikky back in for Black claw again,Ikky dies, beaver back in for lightning shield again, Beaver dies. It is now on third life. I brought in Tinytron for lightning shield and fire shield. That plus a couple of flame throwers got both killed but tinytron re spawns.

Worked for me to be honest. It did come back a third time with full health, but Lightning Shield was still up and the boss killed itself once again :D

Jarblik#1800

That matches my experience, lighting shield lasts 2 rounds - 1 to kill full health on first round, 2 to kill on first rez, but then no #3 for 2nd (full) rez. Not sure if this was a patch change or not.

You should be using Flock not Black Claw with your Ikky, right?

After my Tinytron strat failed, I used this.

Even though my Stormstruck Beaver was only 23 and Uncommon, worked great.

Will be using this one for now on.

It works. I created a tdBattlePetScript for this strat:

ability(#3)
ability(#1)

Fixed the above script as my beaver kept using skill 3 instead of skill 2 (still far from perfect but it works).

ability(#2) [self(#2).active]
ability(#3)
ability(#1)

This not working. I agree with Jtrezzo. COmes back for full health. Kills me. Last boss and i ran out of pets. Third loss in a row from ALL of these strats.

I just tested it out and it definitely still works. Remember that the first Stampede pet has to be faster than the bosses 294 speed, so it can apply the double damage debuff on him.

Alayea

wrote on 2019-05-05 02:22:40

@VonZilla: Did you check to make certain the third pet slot had health greater than the Stormstruck Beaver's 1400 hp? I lost the first time because the random slot had slotted a pet whose health was even lower.

Abi wrote on 2019-04-21 23:29:36

I use Argi as the first pet, Spawn of Gnathus as the 2nd, and the elekk plushie as the third.

Mel wrote on 2019-04-17 12:54:04

OMG!! That is the most amazing and fast strategy for this fight I have ever seen! Thank you!
