Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

I had a hard time with this as i didn't have any of the gaters leveled.

I used Emperor crab 212 - whirlpool, mists, spam surge, when the first pet died i redid whirlpool and surge spam till i dided
Ghaz - 221 whirlpool and swallow whole
hydraling 212 call lightning finished it

At least when you try to share info, do it the right way, don't expect everyone to know the pets if you spell their names and abilities wrong :S
Your 2nd pet called Gahz'rooki (Not Ghaz) and his ability is not swallow whole it's Swallow you whole

I did things a little different here:
Surge, rip, blood, surge to kill delta.
Rip, surge against Scars using rip against scars gets him killed quicker
swapped in scuttler to do bubble then stampede (helps take less damage with bone barrage up) kept up stampede when scars died managed to get a stampede against Little Blue then died by which time it only took call lightning to kill blue. Was less moves than original strat.

My Coastal Scuttler was not high enough so I sub'd with Benax (1,2,1) and continued. Worked first time.

Othros wrote on 2019-01-07 02:00:00

Thanks for the suggestion. I used an S/B Small Frog 2 1 2 in place of Coastal Scuttler and barely needed the Hydraling. This make me think that any frog with Tongue Lash/Swarm of Flies would likely work in this slot.

Myzvale wrote on 2018-12-15 08:56:12

If Delta goes Thrash > Black Claw > Thrash and the second Thrash only hits you once, you can use Rip > Blood in the water > Surge spam and kill both pets with just Snarly, and you probably won't need the Hydraling.

Geki wrote on 2019-01-01 23:33:11

Was just about to type this very thing. Managed to get a second combo in on Scars and get him into his undead round before finally falling. Kudos to Snarly.

Qyana wrote on 2018-12-29 09:33:53

Worked second try with the following (fairly easy to get) team:
1. Magical Crawdad, skills 2-2-1
2. Benax, skills 2-2-1
3. Emperor Crab (PP), skills 2-1-1

As I was merely experimenting, I didn't write down the exact number of attacks for all spells, but I do recall the order, which was mostly intuitive to my pets' abilities.

Magical Crawdad against Delta:
1. Shell Shield
2. Whirlpool
3. Surge as a filler till Whirlpool goes off
4. Renew Shell Shield and Whirlpool on cooldown
5. Surge until Delta is dead. Crawdad will die as well

Benax against Scars:
1. Bubble
2. Swarm of Flies
3. Tongue Lash until Scars is dead (I think 3 times was enough)

Benax against Little Blue:
1. Swarm of Flies
2. Tonguelash until Benax dies, bring in Emperor crab
3. Shell Shied
4. Surge until Little Blue dies

I am going to try this strategy out with my alts and will refine it as it becomes more clear if this is indeed a feasible alternative. Meanwhile, appreciate your feedback on how you managed with this strategy. Happy hunting!

Greeneggs

wrote on 2018-12-29 12:04:36

Nice strat, but I wouldn't classify Magical Crawdad as "fairly easy to get". My collection has 839 unique pets, and he is not one of them. Benax looks like a great choice for this fight though!

Qyana wrote on 2018-12-30 00:38:56

Magical Crawdad is easier to get than totally random battle pet drops in dungeons or raids. It does require some luck and perseverance, going back to Outland to fish, but the reward is worth it :D

Eekwibble

wrote on 2018-12-30 00:59:43

I would say the fact it is cageable makes it 'fairly easy to get'. How much that happens to be on your AH can vary wildly, but, therein lies the joyous discovery of cross-realm pet swapping.
Find a realm with the cheapest one and level a character there. The chances are, if you keep that character fiscally sound, that you will be able to pick up other expensive pets from there as well. Add them to your catalogue then do whatever achievement, recage, and sell them for profit.
Winner winner, Robo-Chicken dinner!

Qyana wrote on 2018-12-30 12:23:42

Just to check the state of affairs in BfA I went back to Outland this morning with a little over an hour to spare before daily resets. Spent between 6:46 and 7:20 CET fishing in 25 Highland Mixed Schools and it took 108 casts to get another Mr. Pinchy. Unofrtunately, the first 2 wishes only got me a benevolent and an angry Mr. Pinchy, but I'm not giving up. This "magical" pet is there for everybody who is willing to spend a little time fishing it :)
