There is a small chance that the second opponent, Grace, can put your Nether Faerie Dragon to sleep while you are executing this strategy. When this happens, the current script (as of 4/4/2024) will swap your sleeping Dragon out for your level pet, which can have disastrous results. I added a line to make the Faerie Dragon stay put when this happens, preventing Rematch from swapping pets. I have always been able to win the fight with this updated strategy:

The strategy is wrong, it is guaranteed to fail unless you get some lucky crits. The correct order should be :

1) Pass
2) Ancient Blessing
3) Arcane Explosion
4) Arcane Explosion

Keep Ancient Blessing on CD, and once you finish the stun round you might be able to cast Surge of power with 2 Arcane explosions before it in order for Surge of power to kill it.

Then you must be doing something wrong. Without any crits or something it works perfectly for me. First two Explosions get blocked or stunned away, the next two bring Serendipity below 1110 life, so surge kills it.

Hm. This is the strat I have used since the Shadowlands changes, and it has never failed for me. FWIW, I use a H/P NFD.

There are several people who investigate reports of problems with strategies on Xu-Fu's. There are designated Strategy Curators, and other regulars who read comments and are interested in the latest.

In my experience, when people leave a short "It didn't work" note, they usually made a mistake. Maybe they used a pet with the wrong Speed, maybe they didn't do a Pass where it was indicated, sometimes they were even using the team and strat from a completely different battle. :)

Sometimes there genuinely is a problem with the strat. This is where the Curators and others come in, checking the strat for weaknesses, and fixing it or removing it if it can't be fixed.

Since most failure reports with no details are wrong, it's not good to waste people's time investigating them. Instead, help them by providing the information they need.

If the strat failed for you, and you want your comment to be taken seriously:

1. Specify EXACTLY which species and breeds you used.

2. Specify whether you read the strategy from the site and executed it manually, or downloaded and used the tdScript.

3. Specify EXACTLY where the first unexpected thing happened, the first thing that deviated from what the strat predicts. What died too early? What didn't die when it was supposed to? What attack missed?

4. If possible, provide a log. You can see your log in the Pet Battle tab of your chat box. You can pull that out, make it bigger, screenshot it. Better still, you can use the addon Battle Pet Log Keeper from Curseforge, and do /pblk and Save Battle when the battle you want to log is complete.

Almost any strat can fail to a really unlucky string of crits, and some difficult challenge strats like the Family ones may fail more than anyone likes, but the people behind this site do their best to promote well-working strats. Do your part. Provide useful information.

This strat has worked for months. I used it almost everyday until today. Failed 5 times in a row. I switched to the strat that Rioter laid out. Had to add a second arcane explosion at step 8 before Serendipity dies and I was at 12 health. Followed the old strat from there, step 9. We will see if this was a 1 time deal or if this is the new normal.

EDIT/Next day it was back to strat listed above and no problems. Must have just been a glitch yesterday. (editiert)

I sometimes find that my Nether Faerie Dragon doesn't have enough HP to complete the fight so when the 3rd moth comes in I start with Life Exchange. This has the benefit of both replenishing my pet's HP but also puts the moth below 50% which activates the 50% bonus damage buff. One Arcane Blast with a 50% damage boost is usually sufficient to kill the moth.

If the Nether Faerie Dragon gets put to sleep, instead of passing, the TD Script swaps the level pet back in and it gets killed if it's health is low enough.

Works very well. I'd change step 1 to Pass, though, just to avoid confusion over how many times you're supposed to use explosion. You get interrupted on turn 1.

I agree. Change Turn 1: to pass. If you follow this Serendipity will kill Chrominius everytime, but more importantly, if you try and use Surge of Power in turn 5 Her Cocoon Strike will be up.

The old strategy for first pet was 112 - 11 pass 2 - 3. Chrom dies on 2nd pet, switcheroo with carry. SS Nether Faerie on 2nd pet 3-1, 1-1 on 3rd pet.

Everytime i have used this the chrominius surge of power always gets blocked as by the time you have done 4 arcane blasts the month goes into a cocoon, but my level pet would take a hit then, luckily they were never level 1. But nether fairy dragon was able to finish fight. not much health left but has worked twice now.

Your first attempt at Arcane Explosion will be stopped by Atonement stunning Chrominus. You only get 3 real hits with A.E. so your Surge of Power should be on round 5 which is one round BEFORE cocoon is used. I frequently switch to the Pet Battle chat screen just so I can be 100% sure of which round I'm on when I'm in a timing crucial fight.

I used a Mini Mindslayer instead of the Nether Faerie Dragon. I used talents 2, 1, 2. Cast Inner vision, then life exchange, and then mana surge.

This can be simplified even further by eliminating the ancient blessing casts, and simply having Chrominius cast arcane explosion four times. The first two always get blocked, but the second two are enough to reduce Serendipity to 1102 HP, at which point Surge of Power will kill it. After that proceed as outlined above. This trims another three rounds off the strategy, making it extremely fast.

I failed this fight several times, by only needing a bit more damage on the last pet. So after casting Moonfire, I used Life Exchange and then finished with Arcane Blast. It's a close fight, but it's better than failing time after time.

My breeds are Chrominius - H/H and Nether Faerie Dragon - P/P

Tried this strat 5 times with Chrom and Nether. Chrom steps went well but the Nether dragon was getting killed too early. Had to finish off the fight with my leveling pet, which was 16 at the time. I think it was just bad RNG for my situation.

FYI: Currently there are three manafiend pets that are great magic AoEs having both Arcane Storm and Arcane Explosion (the first one can be effectively boosted, but it's not mandatory in this case).

They all can be looted from daily ogre mobs located around Highmaul:
Empowered Manafiend – P/P – from Pugg
Energized Manafiend – S/S – from Rukdug
Empyreal Manafiend – H/H – from Guk.

They aren't very expensive as they can be relatively easily farmed by multiple characters.

Legion base shows some more manafiends and with similar builds, they seem redundant at this moment. Only time will tell.

BTW: The "return to the top" button causes to me that the page jumps annoyingly during writing, not allowing to see what I'm typing. :D Probably it happens only after exceeding a certain amount of letters, and only during comment creation (not edition).

Can you explain a bit more what happens with the "to top" button? Is it controlling the scrolling even if it shouldn't? What browser are you using? I'd like to reproduce that if possible, so step by step would be best!

It's Firefox 43.0.4.

It happens during writing a new comment when you type a 10th line (via enter).
A button attempts to scroll the page a bit and then goes back to the bottom and so on.

I see it now. In case you're interested in the mechanic behind: it's not the "to-top" button, but a tiny little script that adds an additional line to the text input field once it becomes too long, so you don't have a scrollbar.
At the very bottom of the page however it has a side-effect. It does extend the text area, but it does not extend the overall length of the page. So browsers jump around because they are confused ^^
I think I know how to fix that, will have to find a quiet minute for it. Thanks for pointing it out!!

If you don't have a fast Nexus Whelpling (this method doesn't work with non-P/S breed), an Arcane Eye or Mana Wyrmling is equally effective but it takes an extra round or two.
