Pets can be replaced by other wild pets as long as the movesets are the same, and the pet that replaces the Fleeting Frog is also a S/S breed.

Strategy worked even when the pets were not yet lvl 25 so there's a little latitude there.

Main drawback: you need to bring your own bandages. Or have duplicate pets to make extra teams. Good luck! (edited)
