Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 1+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

I had to use Bubble on CD for this to work. There is too much randomness in crits, etc.

Strat still works post pre-patch for SL!

If your level pet has any of the abilities as the other frogs, it will mess with the script. Also, if you get rid of Bubble, since it isn't used in the strat or script at all, it'll give more pet alternatives.

That said, if you use Bubble on round 2 & on CD, as others have pointed out, it makes the first frog last longer. Without using Bubble, I'm usually dying on Pokey's first hit, which wastes the Rabid Strike buff/debuff.

On the other hand, depending on your hits versus when the enemy pets use their moves, this can still be incredibly close even with Bubble. Here's a script with a change in the level pet lines, and using Bubble:

change(#2) [self(#3).active]
ability(Swarm of Flies:232) [enemy.aura(Undead:242).exists]
ability(Swarm of Flies:232) [enemy.aura(231).duration<2]
ability(Bubble:934)
ability(Tongue Lash:228)
change(#3)

Fluffyrock wrote on 2018-08-24 07:54:46

I found the strategy to work better by casting Swarm of Flies less regularly and using Bubble off CD. My script for it:

ability(232) [!enemy.aura(231).exists]
ability(Bubble:934)
ability(228)
change(#3)
change(#2)

In most cases both frogs + all enemies die, sometimes 1 frog survives. So I get full XP quite often for my levelling pet, which is nice.

Adapted the strat a bit :
When on 1st enemy pet it casts Howl -> use Bubble , this way your Swamp Croaker will last alot longer and almost kill 2 out of 3 enemy pets (untill 2nd pet uses Feign Death)

Bärdan

That is far from working at all.

Didn't work the first time so I added bubble in and make it work.

Same here! Bubble after Howl is used.

Tuma wrote on 2018-08-22 21:15:07

The script I used with bubble

if [self(#1).dead]
change(#3) [!self(#2).played]
change(#2) [self(#3).active]
endif
ability(Bubble:934) [enemy.aura(Undead).exists]
ability(Swarm of Flies:232) [enemy.aura(231).duration <=1]
ability(Tongue Lash:228)

Changed

to
< 1
so that it doesn't reapply early and waste the turn

Does not work "off the shelf", the script never uses the bubble... add some bubbles manually, and it works :)

I threw in a bubble on the enemy's dead turn and it works great.

This can be a little tight with some bad RNG on tongue lash, but overall it works well.

quazi wrote on 2018-08-19 00:24:57

did not work for me

quazi wrote on 2018-08-19 00:26:12

realized i think i got bad rng with a lot of single hit tongue lashes

Simple strat, that works perfectly :)
