Substitutes:

1
Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

1 / 2

I prefer a Flying Explode pet here to skip Lyver's first attack and save some time, but you could replace that with any Explode pet matching the Health requirement.*

*This requirement is based on the weakest Raptor Breed (Health for the Beast Passive plays a minor role here). You could combine a P/P with the actual lowest Health Explode pet Rebuilt Mechanical Spider.

At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

If you're looking to get some level pet experience in, I ran the same set up (Crimson Spore 2/1/2 and Zandalari Anklerender 2/*/2) with the following minor changes. Crimson Spore starts with Blinding Powder, then Creeping Fungus, then Explode --> Bring in level pet --> Bring in Anklerender and Black Claw into Hunting Party. Fine experience with only two extra steps.

I just had Lyver kill a P/B Anklerender. It required two crits:

Round 1 , -- [1]
Explode dealt 685 damage to enemy Lyver. , -- [2]
Explode applied Boss: Damage Reduction to enemy Lyver. , -- [3]
Explode dealt 1725 damage to your Crimson Spore. , -- [4]
Your Crimson Spore died. , -- [5]
Round 1 , -- [6]
Zandalari Anklerender is now your active pet. , -- [7]
Round 2 , -- [8]
Devour X dealt 594 damage to your Zandalari Anklerender (Critical). , -- [9]
Black Claw applied Black Claw to enemy Lyver. , -- [10]
Boss: Damage Reduction fades from enemy Lyver. , -- [11]
Round 3 , -- [12]
Trenchant Claws dealt 237 damage to your Zandalari Anklerender. , -- [13]
Trenchant Claws applied Beast to your Zandalari Anklerender. , -- [14]
Hunting Party dealt 206 damage to enemy Lyver (Strong). , -- [15]
Hunting Party dealt 206 damage to enemy Lyver (Strong). , -- [16]
Hunting Party dealt 206 damage to enemy Lyver (Strong). , -- [17]
Hunting Party applied Shattered Defenses to enemy Lyver. , -- [18]
Round 4 , -- [19]
Trenchant Claws dealt 476 damage to your Zandalari Anklerender (Critical). , -- [20]
Your Zandalari Anklerender died. , -- [21]
Shattered Defenses fades from enemy Lyver. , -- [22]
Round 4 , -- [23]
Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen is now your active pet. , -- [24]

My Xu-Fu finished him off in 2 rounds, but this shows that the third pet may be necessary.

The script for this strategy failed to be recognised - not sure why
WOW v10.0.7.48676 tdPetBattleScript v1.5 (17 Nov 22)
All the scripts for the new pet battles have failed - I'm not sure if it's the tool or the scripts.

What do you mean by "recognized"? As you can guess... we might be aware of a general issue with scripts not working (whether or not it's about the latest additions only). Personally, I don't experience any problems on 10.0.7 PTR or Retail. (edited)

the "a" button for auto is unavailable - I am planning to test with some other pet battles that have previously worked
they worked fine on PTR
I have tested by comparing a pet battle I had saved previously vs one for a new 10.0.7 pet battle - the existing ones work fine, the new ones don't register that there is a saved script and behave as if no script is present in Rematch. (edited)

- Scripts themselves don't do anything about that keybind.
- This sounds like a problem people had when their Script Selector (which was part of tdBattlePetScript_Rematch) was not properly set to Rematch, but this is no longer needed with the replacement "Pet Battle Scripts"
- Did you eventually write-protect some files (very unlikely when you see the scripts attached to your teams)
- Or accidentally went back to tdBPS for your Retail installation? (edited)
