Orgulas	DON`T TRY IT WITH THE ALTERNATIVE PETS IT DOESN´T WORK It has to be the hermit and the chitterspine! So, I had none of those slimy Pets from Naz and found this strategy. The Eel should be very cheap in the AH, so def a good alternative. It`s very important, that your chitterspine is S/S go farm one if neccessary. This just worked 1st try for me after several (and I do mean several) utter fails. I was really getting upset and looking in other spots for ideas for teams, when my husband said let's give this one a go. I am so happy...I was getting sick of looking at this stupid bird. Thank you.

The above strategy did not work for me after about 20 tries. I watched a YouTube video by Cymre Jones that worked first try.

The strat by Cymre Jones has a few checkpoint failures. The strat using the Gulp Froglet only has one. Also the Gulp Froglet must have 1627 health

I've tried this so many times and even when not counting the innumberable times a pet died too early (and there are several possibilities where that could happen), the boss always had life left after following that tactic to the letter. Since 2 of the 3 pets have only one breed I guess the Gulp froglet mustn't be H/B like mine is but H/P oder some such...

After several attempts I was able to successfully down Gloamwing with this strat. There is some RNG involved in terms of how many hits Gloam gets off on each pet and certain move sets connecting. But overall I either didn't have other pet comps or tried different comps/strats to no great effect. Thank you for sharing! My Gulp Froglet was H/P btw.

This strat BARELY worked for me, with Ghostshell Crab having 32 hp left in the end. Thanks a lot. I think I tried different strats 50-75 times to no avail.

This tactic is heavily dependent on crits from your team. After leaving the fight countless times due to slicing wind killing the Ghostshell crab early on, it finally worked - but my crab ended up dying to slicing wind (again) because there was too little damage done to Gloamwing. Even 1 hit from Slicing wind would have killed the crab regardless - and there were no crits from Gloamwing during this fight either.

Had to restart 16 times before Gloamwing's Slicing Wind hit only once. On the 17th attempt it lived to use Corpse Explosion and the rest of the fight went as described.

This is the only strategy that has worked for me on this specific fight in the Shadowlands Prepatch. While it does have a small element of RNG (Praying that Gloamwing only hits your Gulp Froglet 1 time) this strategy has the LEAST amount of RNG of all the ones I have found. The only thing is that it is REQUIRED that your Gulp Froglet be of the H/P, or H/B Breed as the B/B breed cannot survive long enough. All and all thank you for this strategy and good luck as this is one of THE hardest fights. Be prepared to reset a few times!

I used a Dancing Water Skimmer and two Spring Striders, all 289 speed.

Here's his strat, verbatim from Battle.net:

Strategy :
The first 3 rounds are used for some set up:
Round 1: pass
Round 2: soothe
Round 3: switch to your 3rd strider (If Gloamwing gets a triple hit, you may want to start over just to be safe.)

All 3 of your pets should be still alive. From now on repeat the following steps:
Step 1: Healing wave (At the beginning of the round Gloamwing is asleep for 2 turns)
Step 2: Water Jet (This looks like it breaks the sleep ...)
Step 3: Soothe ( ... but for some reason Gloamwing was very tired and decided to keep napping this round.)
Step 4: Gloamwing swaps your strider out.
Step 5: Go to Step 1.

Be patient. It's a long fight.

My first 20 or so tries used one strider at 305 speed. Did not work. Went back to Val'Sharah and picked up a second Spring Strider with 289 speed. Worked on the first try...all striders were 50% health or above when finished. I ran it a second time just to make sure it wasn't a fluke: two of my striders died due to Void Gate crits, but I still beat him with my last strider.

This deserves moar upvotes! I just tested it, and while I think it could possibly fail to a Void Gate crit, it seems otherwise perfect. I always felt that the devs would not leave just the Gulp Froglet as their intended strat, and this is so imaginitive that I suspect this is the hidden gem they wanted us to find.

I don't think the devs actually beat all of the combinations. I think they release it live and see if our ingenuity is up to fixing the problem and then discretely nerf the pet.

This strat is NOT WORKING at all. Maybe Blizz nerfed it, I lost dunno how many tries and bandages (all striders/skimmers BELOW 300). Do not try this, it's not working anymore...

gbh102, you are right. Gemllum's strat did originally work beautifully, and was entered here as a full strat on Xu-Fu's, but Blizz effectively nerfed the effects of Soothe, and broke this strat. Pity.

This strategy cannot work anymore, because Gloamwing's first attacks are a total of 1722 damage (there is no range, fixed values). However the Gulp Froglet has only 1627 HP in any of the H breeds.

It's not completely true. Benax(Guld p/h) like you said has 1627 hp. Predatory Strike hits for 1192 and slicing wind(each) hits for 397. However the slice can not hit more than once and nothing can crit of course. It's a really dumb fight with this particular achievement. This is the hardest one I've had so far in the entire game over all my years pet battling. The Gulp Frog I used had 1627 hp(p/h). It took me almost a couple of hours until I got the strat to work. Gulp Froglet (1,1,2)
Ghostshell Crab (2,2,1)
1. Pass - Benax is swapped out for Ghostshell Crab
2. Spirit Spikes
3. Bubble - this is important, you must get hit twice. Restart if you get hit 1 or 3 times
4. Swap in Benax
5. Void Portal brings in Gulp Froglet
6. Mudslide
7. Corpse Explosion - Restart if you don't get this one off. This is the difficult part of having the balance Gulp Froglet. You can only handle 3 hits total.
8. Bring back Benax
9.Bubble
10. Mudslide
11. Waterjet
12. Pass
13. Ghostshell comes back in and he still has his bubble
14. Grasp
15. Bubble
16. Grasp until the fight is won

Great strat. FYI, the chance of Round 3 (must get hit twice) is the same roll chance of the original strat posted. However, in addition, this strat has another RNG checkpoint (Round 7) which the original strat does not have. Nonetheless, great strat.

After all the RNG of getting gulp frog to do both moves, and benax his 2nd jet, I finally downed gloam with ghost shark using huge sharp teeth and blood in the water didnt have to dive first because benax took the predator hit after his second jet, but it is heavily rng dependant.

Got this strat off of Wowhead, it was proposed by Chidsuey, it worked for me the first time. The breeds were my pets.

Benax 1 1 1 H/P
Ghostshell Crab 2 2 1 H/S
Gulp Froglet X 1 2 H/B

This mitigates the RNG as much as possible, but there is still some. If at any point Void Gate crits Benax, restart. Good luck!
Edit: Spirit Claws could be used in place of Grasp if for some reason you're having trouble finishing, but that adds some more RNG to the mix.

Turn 1 - Pass (Ghostshell Crab forced in)
Turn 2 - Spirit Spikes (Gloamwing must strike exactly twice, otherwise restart)
Turn 3 - Bubble
Turn 4 - Switch to Benax - Gulp Froglet is forced in
Turn 5 - Mudslide

This is an OK, strat, but there is at least one strat with a 33% overall. success rate Try that one out (replacing Ghostshell Crab with Ghost Shark). One more thing, percentatges do not take crits into account (can work both ways tho)

I didn't have a Ghost Shark, so I replaced it with Spawn of G'nathus (1,1,1). Use Dive like a Ghost Shark would and then Thunderbolt. :)

For those that don't have the specific breed of Gulp Froglet that can survive long enough to get both Mudslide and Corpse Explosion off, I was able to get use the following strategy. It still requires some luck but less than other strategies I tried. If Gloamwing crits or gets off any 3 attacks it pretty much is a restart. I found that her getting 2 attacks off was ok. The one I won with she got off only 1 attack when I brought in my Ghostshell Crab, but that meant I easily killed her with my Ghost Shark in Turn 9.

Pet 1 - Ghostshell Crab (1, 2, 1)
Pet 2 - Gulp Froglet (1, 1, 2)
Pet 3 - Ghost Shark (2, 2, 1)

Turn 1 - Pass (brings in your Gulp Froglet)
Turn 2 - Corpse Explosion
Turn 3 - (Bring in Ghostshell Crab) Bubble
Turn 4 - Spirit Claws (restart if it misses)
Turn 5 - Spirit Spikes
Turn 6 - Spirit Claws (restart if it misses or if Gloamwing gets off 3 attacks)
Turn 7 - Do whatever, your Ghostshell Crab dies
Turn 8 - (Bring in Ghost Shark and you will be faster than Gloamwing), Dive (avoiding Predatory Strike)
Turn 9 - Ghost Strike if Gloamwing has less than 325 hps, otherwise Consume
Turn 10 (if needed) - Ghost Strike

You have it correct. In Turn 6, I mean if she hits you with 3 slicing winds in one round then it is a restart. Basically you can never have her hit you 3 times. Twice is ok, but not 3.

Turn 10 is needed, and you're not stunned for it, if in Turn 9 you have to Consume instead of Ghost Strike (i.e. she has more than 325 hps left in turn 9 making you use Consume).

I've tried this strategy several times now, and even when everything goes perfectly, I would need 2 more turns of Grasp to kill it. Gloamwing has about 400hp at turn 12, and each Grasp only does 105 dmg, leaving Gloamwing alive with about 200hp. This strategy depends on a crit.

Thanks! Did it with a H/B Mud Jumper since my Benax wasn't 25 and also I did not crit at all so it is doable with no crits and my Gulp Froglet was H/P but some have done it with B/B so maybe breed doesn;t really matter for Gulp Froglet. Took 4 tries to get the perfect RNG.

Surge->(Gulp Froglet is forced in)->Mudslide->Corpse Explosion (you need to be hit ONLY ONCE! If rng is fail restart)->switch to Toothy and do Rip->Blood in the Water->Surge->Toothy dies and Snarly is back->do Blood in the Water->Surge.

IMO this strat needs much less rng than the above where you need to be highly favored by rng twice and it still may not be enough, with this...if everything goes ok with froglet being hit once, you are almost guaranteed.

After 50+ attempts this tactics worked at last. All other tatctics that posted here didn't work for me. This is the worst fight that I have ever seen. Being dependent on a bad chance for Gloamwing in my opinion is a bad design. Most imporatant steps are Mudslide on turn 2 and Corpse Exposion after it. Just try it again and again and it will work sometime. Rather later than sooner.

I only had the b/b gulp froglet and tried all the alternative strategies, this by far was the most successful, with two near misses and success around 10th fight. Gloamwing needs to hit the crab three times when spirit spikes are up and he must die. Also blood in water must hit.

This is indeed by far the best strat so far if you do not have the H/B Gulp Froglet. Although still heavily RNG driven (12 fights in a row my crab was only hit with 1x slicing winds (WTF?) and when I was lucky enough to get 3x hits then BitW missed. Took 4 tries when slicing winds hit 3x -- 42 tries total.

This worked for me on my 4th attempt, as I had to concede the previous rounds as it is reliant on Gulp Froglet getting Corpse Explosion off before he dies. Bring bandages and just be patient ... it will work!

Because this pet is strong vs aquatic and has RNG 1-3 attacks element. This is a difficult fight to win with an aquatic team. You can only win when you are lucky to get 2 rounds of 1's on the 1-3 attacks and no crits.

attempt this fight for last 3 hours (around 400-500 fights) with above combination and after 250 bandages, still does not work.
Predatory strike is 1129 hp but slicing wind is 2X with 1st is 396 and 2nd is 700. auto kill gulp froglet.

Did Blizzard change the 2nd slicing wind to crit? All 400-500 fights, slicing wind crit on 2nd hit.

Thanks to Henry I made some changes to this strategy. It now has a much better success chance (up to 33% from ~11%). Still one of the hardest fights, but a lot better odds now.

Definitely works. Just have to have bandages and remain patient. Not a bad strat - just a really hard fight, with the odds in Gloamwing's favour for sure. It's a desperate strat and the best out of a lot of desperate ones.

whew! I think 33% is a bit optimistic -- do the legendary creatures have a higher chance to get more hits on 1-3 turn abilities? Took me maybe 17 turns (obviously RNG is RNG so ymmv) but did work, and at least you can tell quickly if it's likely to fail or not, so probably best strat out there right now. Thanks!

I've done this one about 20 times and got really close three times. On one of them, GW died one second after killing my third ghostshell. I have to be missing a step somewhere because the crab dies before the last voidgate, so that the third crab has to deal with it immediately, then later on again when it's off cd, which is what kills the third one off. Any idea what step I'm missing?

This strat has the same RNG checkpoint as my 33.3% overall strat in addition to another RNG checkpoint at Blood in the Water. In other words, this strat has a lower chance of succeeding.

Bring bandages and pray that the enemy's Slicing Wind doesn't kill you too quick. You may fail many times before getting the Corpse Explosion off. I only had to do it about ten times. This definitely works, but it requires you to do it EXACTLY as follows:

Snarly (1.1.2), H/P Gulp Froglet (2.1.2), Toothy (1.1.2) (UPDATE: also tested with Muckbreath and Chuck subbed for the two crocs.)
1-Surge (Gulp Froglet is swapped in)
2-Mudslide
3-Corpse Explosion (If Gulp does before explosion, restart.)
4-Choose Toothy (important!)
5-Rip
6-Blood in the Water
7-Surge (if Toothy dies before this, restart.)
8-Snarly comes in.
9-Blood in the Water
10-Surge

Doesn't matter what pet I have or what speed in the frog spot - I get hit for 1192 then 397 ALWAYS killing me before I get a second attack off. I've tried every strat here but my gulp frog is a B/B and Bofo isn't up on my server (when I can be on anyway) and the ones on the AH are BB. Any other pet subs for those of us without the dang frog? I've tried the crab, the crocs, other fast frogs, etc. Nothing works - I know it's RNG but good grief I'm out of pet charms and slowly losing the last of my bandages.

This is the only fight I have left and I get exactly the same results as the person above. In over 100 fights I have never gotten to use corpse explosion because he is always hit for 1192 and then 397....

After a few fails, like 20, i went with just using surge rather than the gamble that blood in the water would hit, and it worked first time my frog got to get corpse explosion off.

After about 20 wipes overall, trying 2 crocolisks, a Swamp Croaker in place of Benax (because I don't have him leveled), and all sorts of other stuff, I decided to get a little creative (and I was running low on bandages lol). After about 5 wipes, here's what finally worked for me.

Tiny Blue Carp - x/x/2
H/B Gulp Froglet - 1/1/2
Snarly - 1/1/2

Strat went as above, but with Benax replaced with the carp. Used Mana Surge and got a lucky crit I suppose, and then the bleed from Rip finished off Gloamwing. Such an RNG fight, glad to be done with it.

This fight was nervewrecking! Finally got passed the Corpse Explosion after what felt like a gazillion tries. Then I saw there was another "restart if miss", almost had a heartattack, but got past it. Benax finished the fight with 36 HP. Phew!

Wow. This has to be perfect. If Toothy doesn't die in his round 3, Benex faces Predatory strike and is 1-shot. This means Gloamwing needs to hit only 1 slicing wind against Froglet, and exactly 2 against Toothy. This means you have at best an 11% chance on any fight (no crits).

I was lucky to win on the 4th attempt.

P.S. This is not a criticism of this fight. All the Mac'Aree pets are extremely tough, and it's fantastic to have found a strategy at ALL! ;)

I don't get this strat. There's a step missing here. After Gulp Froglet kills himself with Corpse Explosion, Gloamwing's next attack is going to be Void Gate....so.....how is that dealt with? LIterally not included in strat....i mean...?

Gulp Froglet has 3 breeds available: a B/B, a H/B and H/P. You NEED to have one of the Health ones, and also, your Gulp Frog needs to get hit by Slicing Winds ONLY ONCE in order for the above strat to work. I only have the B/B so I'm not even close to doing this strat. I've been using the Gulp Froglet I have with Swarm instead of Corpse Explosion, and a Tideskipper with Geyser. This strategy gets him below his racial VERY QUICK....the problem I'm having is finding the right first pet. I need to have a pet faster 300 speed, who has Surge, and also some way to dodge attacks. I tried the Mongoose, since he has all of the requirements, unfortunately, his extremely low health pool means he doesn't survive long enough to take out Gloamwing. I've literally gotten him down to 400hp.....I just can't get it any lower than that.

This took about ten attempts to get lucky with the Slicing Wind hits, but it worked with Benax surviving at 37 hp. Close one, but got the achievement done! This was with a P/H Benax and H/B Froglet.

Entweder wurde Zwielichtflosse generft oder ich hatte Glück. Der Schneidende Wind traf meist nur 1x.

La strat avec le requin fantôme fonctionne bien, comme tous les combats contre les maitres mascottes d'Argus, il faut avoir un peu de chance et persévérer.
2 conditions obligatoires :
- la jeune grenouille gobeuses doit lancer son explosion morbide
- Bénax doit lancer les 2 jaillissements d'eau (tours 6 et 7)

Je confirme, la strat d'origine ne fonctionne pas : il est impossible de passer l'explosion morbide (plus de 20 essais d'affilée avec le même résultat)

Волшебный речной рак 2 x 2
Краб с призрачным панцирем 2 2 1
Юная хваткая лягушка x x 2

1. Бросок, выходит Краб
2. Призрачные колючки
3. Пузырь
4. Меняем на Рака, отгребаем Врата в лицо, выходит лягушка
5. Взрыв трупа (вешает дебаф на босса)
6. Вызываем Рака, Пожелание. Если рак умер - перзапуск, так как нужен отхил для краба
7. Бросок, рак умирает, выходит единственный живой краб
8. Хватка
9. Хватка - тут можно умереть, перезапуск
10. Призрачные колючики - тут можно умереть, перезапуск
11. Хватка

У меня босс умер с примерно 7 попытки этим сетапом на 10 ходу - он трижды сдал удар в колючки и отдача кританула ему в лицо :)

Прокатит если только клинки ударят один раз т.е. если ляга доживет до взрыва трупа, и здоровья у ляги даже для этого надо 1192+397=1589+1 . Клинки бьют от 1 до 3 раз так что успехов
