I didn't have Syd the Squid so I justed used my Brightpaw; Stealth, Arcane Dash, Bite until dead.
Then used Arcane Storm, Arcane blast on Eldritch Manafiend to finish off Ash, then used Arcane blast until Fang died then used Surge of power as soon as Swarm came in then just used Bite to finsh.

It was only through RNG that Syd killed Ash. However, that wasn't where I encountered the issue. I wasn't able to Surge of Power on Fang because of the Scorched Earth dot combined with Slicing Wind hits, so the Porcupette had to come in and limp the last way through. Even then, I still had to use a move not indicated in the strat: Spirit Spikes. Otherwise I would have died to DoT damage.

Some suggestions:

Use Arcane Storm to clear Scorched Earth

Use Spirit Spikes on the Porcupette to help mitigate dots. Time it with when your pet is Blinded. If your Manafied ate the blind, you can still use it to reduce DoT damage by applying it on your first round, if you want.

The strat has been updated to reflect the above.

EDIT: Tested 4 times and worked 100% for me, even if Syd died before the first enemy.

Even with syd taking the big hit from Ash's Scorched Earth because he went 2nd on the first round it worked like a charm. Used arcane storm on the first round with the Eldrich Manafiend to get rid of the Scorched Earth weather but I don't think it was required.

This made all the difference for me thanks. I was losing the porcupette to dots having 'won' the battle, this kept the manafiend alive as my sole remaining pet.

Used Brightpaw instead of the Porcupette. Any Magic pet with Bite should work as long as you outspeed Swarm with >219 speed.
