Other Info
This pet is a reward for working on Arakkoa Archaeology.

Arakkoa Archeology progresses through various rewards that are given for solving puzzles. The current reward you'll be working toward is listed at the top left of the Archaeology window. Continue to solve the progression of puzzles until you get to the one that shows the Ancient Nest Guardian as the next reward.

There seems to be a discrepancy between exactly how many Fragments it takes to craft the Ancient Nest Guardian. It was supposedly hotfixed to 225, but a recent(ish) post indicates it still takes 250 to craft the pet.

If you have quite a lot of Relics, you can go to the Archaeology NPC in Dalaran and she can trade crated relics for Arakkoa Fragments.
