This will take a while, since you'll lose a hit every time he blinds you. By using Cauterize when blind, you do manage to save a bit of time. That said, Atherton only have one attack that does damage, and it's on a long cooldown, so Cauterize is easily able to keep up. By the time Atherton is dead, there won't be much left of the rest of his team.

It might be interesting to experiment with a S/S Bound Stream (1,1,2) in slot one using Healing wave and Tidal Wave. That has the advantage of 341 speed making it faster than Atherton, so you only lose one round to his blind.

This has a Yellow tag for Shadowlands readiness. It appears to still be working, could some kind soul let me know the cause of the readiness tag, so I can see if it can be addressed. Thanks.

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Team and script worked well as of DF Patch 10.2 (Solo'd it)

I let Lava Crab solo, it took 28 rounds.

This worked solo, slow and steady, with just a green quality HH Lava Crab.

Got killed near the end, with one enemy pet dead and last 2 with very low hp. Easy kill with backup pet though, ty for sharing!

Took a long time but works perfectly, all pets at full health at the end of fight. Definately still works in SL

OK in SL: Uncommon (Green) B/B Lava Crab killed the enemy team in 26 rounds, but the outcome was never in doubt: the enemy health was steadily going down, own health was periodically back to full, never below half or so.

I was skeptical because magma wave does so little damage, but between the heal, and Atherton only having one damage-dealing ability (and it on a very long cooldown), this worked beautifully. Kudos to an unusual strat!

Note from creator - this strategy needs the "Long" tag added to it, because it does take a while.

I wish I would have had my Bound Stream leveled - your suggestion sounds most interesting. Regardless, after the trauma of the Elemental battle with the sharks, (Not So Bad Down Here), I will be forever appreciative of slow and steady and Successful!

Didn't have the Lava Crab at 25 so used Pandaren Fire Spirit with the same setup as the Crab.
